My sister is having a rough time. Her cancer is still growing and she is getting ready to begin her 5th clinical trial. She has lymphademia (sp) in her arm and now has no movement ability in it and is in severe pain. She is on daily pain meds that help some but her will seems to be giving up. She hasn't been going to church and I really need prayers for her, her family and me. She is my very best friend and we are as close as sisters can be. I see her or talk to her daily and I (and she) are struggling to cope.   Please say a special prayer to our Lady for her Motherly Mantel to wash away this pain.

Well Jane developed an absess on her arm and had to be admitted to the hospital Wednesday. She is stable however, pain management is an issue. I have been staying with her nightly and need many prayers. She will hopefully come home tomorrow and will begin a new round of aggressive chemo in about 2 weeks. I do not like the direction things are heading. Her Dr. seems optomistic I just can't seem to get myself to study more on the topic. You know the old saying " ignorance is bliss". I think I just don't want to know. Thanks for your continued prayers. I am in the throws of despair.

Oh, Anne!!!!

I can empathize so much! My brother and I are going through exactly the same thing (he is entering his first clinical trial for brain cancer) and it is indeed a great Cross - I do think it would be more difficult with a sister. That's a very intimate relationship!

May Our Lady grant you the sure and certain knowledge that she is drawing you both closer to her Son, and allow you both to find great joy in moments of hope and simplicity. May she gently and tenderly care for your concerns as only a mother can.

And, I will definitely pray for a successful outcome for this clinical for your sister! I pray especially for an invigoration of HOPE which can be so elusive at a certain point.

to you, Anne! I understand your pain and I am praying with all my heart!

Anne, I am praying, how stressful for all, I am sure it is all consuming. Has your sister been seen by someone in a pain clinic? If not, see if her oncology or primary doc can get her in to see a doc quickly in that setting. Most of these doctors are anesthesiologists, whose whole focus is managing pain as effectively as possible for patients like your sister. I know they can work wonders.....please look into that possibility. Keep us updated!!
