After seeing the recommendation for Straight No Chaser here (I'd never heard of them) I picked it up at Target the other day but then later saw there are 2 different Christmas CD's. The one I got (still in shrink-wrap) is called Holiday Spirits and does have the 12 Days of Christmas. Is that one everyone likes?

Molly I have the perfect christmas album if you like Irish Folk music...this is my all time favourite christmas/advent music.
i Tune: Irish Christmas by Eden's Bridge (it use to be called Celtic Christmas)
If you want to hear samples of each track, here they are at Amazon.
Eden's Bridge have a facebook site and there is a bit of talk about the Christmas music at present.
I like to listen to this all through advent in particular and then when Christmas comes I like to play John Michael Talbot's Birth of Jesus: A Celebration of Christmas

Bumping this thread - yeah, a little early I know...
Just seeing this new cd from The Priests -they have two other cds but this is the first Christmas one. I just became aware of them through the Aquinas & More Black Friday newsletter. The clips sound wonderful.
Noel - by The Priests
I'm not clear if they will be part of the Black Friday specials offered there or not.
I mentioned it to my daughter and she had seen that it will be one of Black Friday week specials on Amazon tomorrow (Thursday)- $5.99 for the cd.
I'm excited and plan to get it from one of the sources.

I haven't run into anything new.. but I added a couple of old favorites by buying just single songs.. Santa Claus and Popcorn by Merle Haggard, Shake Me I Rattle by Marion Worth, and Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsmen
I'm up to 25.8 hours of Christmas music

Hmm I sorta mentioned it but not directly..
Celtic Woman - A Christmas Celebration
is lovely.. and has a some fun versions of some classics as well as very traditional pieces (O Holy Night!) some celtic and some new things (Christmas Pipes).
You can find the songs on youtube if you want to hear full versions before buying.

I am listening to and loving Chanticleer's We Sing Christmas. I bought it last year, but lnever even got a chance to open it! Beautiful Latin hymns, lovely for background, lyrical music. I just ordered Anonymous Four's 4-cd set of Christmas music as my investment for this year--maybe I'll review it for you next year

Didn't know which thread to bump - but I think this one references most of the past threads, so is a good resource.
We have discussed Advent songs/albums more recently, but not a lot of talk about new finds for Christmas music/albums. I would love to hear from you all any new finds that are spectacular, unusual, etc. Most of my best finds have come from your recommendations.
What is new in the last few years that you love?

My very favorite was a gift to us 2 Christmas' ago. It comes from the Limburg Cathedral choirs. German, Latin and English songs are gathered on this CD. Hier is a sample of Puer Natus Est .
The sound is much better on the cd.
