Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Amy,
Hugs and prayers.
I agree with the ladies above. I have a brother who acts the same way. I use to give but have decided that I cannot any longer and the past gifts have not helped him any as he is exactly where he has been for the past fifteen years: going no where. I wish my dad would stop bailing him out and allow him to finally take responsibility. Alas... Family... Sigh...

What Jen said. Please do not allow this person to manipulate you or put something of this magnitude between you and dh. Praying for your strength. And continuing to pray for all your other concerns.

Amy, I've been remembering you in my Immaculate Conception and Christmas novenas.

Your relative certainly shouldn't expect you to keep anything from your dh. That in itself is completely inappropriate.

Continuing to pray.

Oh Amy, I'm sorry that someone you love is trying to put you in a pickle .

This is true. Would it help to go back to this person and say something like..."Can we erase our last conversation and act as if it didn't happen? And in the future, please know that I will share whatever passes between us with my dh."

Amy, you are so very generous in many ways. Perhaps with a situation like this, your generosity can focus mainly on prayer rather than money.

OK...now I'm going to take my own advice and pray for my friend Amy .

Love,

We've been there just recently with someone. I know and feel your pain, Amy. Big hugs to you and many prayers.
