Dear friends,
I'm home! And well. This has been quite a roller coasting experience!
Wednesday, I went to my doctor for a simple respiratory problem and though I should mention to him that I had been having palpitations at night and occasional chest pain (right under my right breast).
He told me that he never underestimate chest pains so he had an EKG done right there. Acording to him it was abnormal. He prescribed some nitro for chest pain and scheduled me for a stress test. I went home after filling in my prescription. At around 8:oo PM I was again having chest pain, but felt very hesitant to take the medicine. After all it wasn’t an unbearable pain. But I guess the doctor had scared me a little when he had said that if the medicine didn’t take the pain away I was to call 911 immediately.
I reluctantly took one. My heart started to beat very fast and loud and I felt a lot of pressure on my chest… overall I felt very bad. I was scared to take another pill although the chest pain was still there. I waited a little but only felt worse. DH asked if I wanted to go to the ER, after a lot of hesitation, I finally agreed.
When I arrive at the ER my blood pressure was 169 over 82. They put me in a room and started monitoring me. They took some blood tests, another EKG, put me on O2, and gave me morphine. After a while the doctor came to see me and told me that all the results were normal but he couldn’t understand why I was still having pain. He decided to keep me to do further tests. The next morning my assigned doctor came and told me that according to all test results I looked extremely healthy and that he didn’t think it was cardio related. He told me I could go home. A few minutes later the nurse told me he had ordered a stress test and a gallbladder ultrasound. OK. After the stress test and the doctor sat down beside me and said it was abnormal. I had a pulmonary pressure of 100 (15 is normal) and my heart had gone into V tach. He wasn’t going to send me home like that. He ordered a catheterization. He also told me I had gallstones.
Then later that afternoon I met the cardiologist and he told me that he had no reason to look into my right heart as everything was fine there. He said that there had been a misunderstanding between the technician and the doctor and my pulmonary pressure was normal (wasn’t anything close to 100). He did proceed to look into my arteries and found them perfectly normal. That night I met with a surgeon to schedule an appointment for the removal of my gallbladder (next Tuesday). She told me she wasn’t surprise at all with eleven pregnancies that I would have stones (the gaining and losing of weight as well as fluid, tend to incite the formation of stones). The next day my doctor came to my room and say I was good to go. Everything was right. I asked about the V tach and he assured me that it was the machine and not me that was the problem. Those makings were artifacts??? Whatever that is. So maybe the chest pains were gallbladder related, although the surgeon was rather doubtful. I am perplexed! All I know is I am thankful to be home with a good heart. Thank you so much for your prayers.
Love,
Louise

Dear Lousie, I'm so glad to hear that you are home and OK. I've been praying for you. I have had gall stone attacks and they do mimic a heart attack. It's pretty awful. Everything you described sounds like what happened with my attacks.
Hope it all gets worked out!

Louise, I will be praying for you!
My younger brother just experienced a few weeks of feeling miserable that ended up with a gallstones diagnosis (he is having his surgery later this month).
Good luck and God bless,

Hi,
Thank you all for the prayers. Surgery went very well. A dear friend invited me to stay at her very quiet, peaceful house to regain some strength and heal before facing daily life with my handful of boys (they are delightful, but quite lively). I am soaking up the peace and refilling my spirit. She even brought me communion this morning. What a privilege! Her house is a small haven; everything breathes Catholicism in here, in a most natural way. Lydia and Sebastien are holding up the ship at home quite well, the little boys are in good hands. God is good.

I missed this news until now. So glad you are on the road to recovery. When you're up to it, I look forward to your full description of what it is about that house that makes it such a Catholic haven.

Glad to heere you're resting and well, Louise.
I was also going to ask that you give us a detailed description of this Catholic home. I'm anxious to hear more. Start a new thread when you do...
