We do this too! Big hits at our house are a $1.99 6 pack of pop (for those old enough to drink pop), a box of pop tarts (teen favorite), and things like protein bars (bought on sale $1 a bar) are also popular with older children. Dd loves Fiber One bars, and the 7 yr old lives for those silly "fruit" jellies that come in shapes like cartoon people (we found Veggie Tales ones last year which were a huge hit with the 3 yr old). The littlies love an .89 single serving carton of gold fish or box of animal crackers. What's fun about this is that the child gets his or her *own* box that they don't have to share.
