Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I like the Marine stuff idea. Also, when my ds was too young/immature for an electric guitar, we did go the magazine route, and it sort of worked? I bet after a few months in bootcamp he will have a healthy respect for weaponry. Love the Marine medal idea, too!

***This kid is just too hung up on cool. His idea of manhood is being a Marine, driving a lifted truck with a gun hanging in the back window, and having more tattoos then the other really tough guys. I am still trying to figure out how I ended up with a kid like this. ***

Temperament. Some kids are just wired differently. God will use it for His glory, because there is no such thing as a bad temperament. He probably just needs some time to find God's plan for his life and a cause to generate all that energy into. Its tough raising a kid with an unusual temperament. I have one too, different in some ways to your Charlie, but definitely not easy to parent. Keeps me on my knees...

That medal is great! And I found it less expensive on some other sites! I think the Marine paraphenalia idea is good. I don't know how far too go before he graduates boot camp, though. Just in case...

Molly, why not get things that don't necessarily say "I'm a marine" but might be things anyone could use/wear/display etc.
