Oooh. We did a Wisconsin road trip in June and had New Glarus for the first time. We tried several of the varieties and we were big fans. It was such a relief as my fil (whom we were headed to see) is exclusively a Bud drinker.

Oh my goodness - a beer thread!! That is my Friday night treat - a nice dark beer!

My dh does not drink at all but he enjoys finding dark brews for me - my current favorites are Beamish and Murphy's Stout.

And I will admit - I am a total beer snob - the clearer the brew the more unworthy of my attention!    Bud? Coors light? I'd rather drink water!

We once opened a bottle of our "wedding wine" to serve the mosignor (now a bishop!) who had said the homily at our wedding, and it turned out he was abstaining from alcohol that night!

Whaddya know? I like beer more than I thought I did. I never tried anything but Bud. What an image I'm leaving in my children's minds, mom's making applesauce and drinking a cool one...(just one, of course)
