It is fun to hunt them down

The Men of Science book I have is from the Badger Book series printed by Whitman in the late 50's and early 60's. It has a beautiful green cover with pictures on front and back. The back has color profiles of the scientists.

It looks like there are several other good titles in this series. My library has none, of course. Ah- another challenge to track them down...

I went to Amazon to recommend this book to someone, and I saw that it is now back in print!!!      Doesn't this sort of thing give you hope???

Great recommendation! I found a very good/good hardcover used exlibrary copy on abebooks for $8.47 including shipping. Neat that it is also available for Kindle. Love these old books. I agree that the better language far outweighs the glossy photos, charts, and graphs.

I don't know if I posted this here before, but it is interesting to compare the original publications of the Science in Ancient ____ series to the more current reprints. Language cut to the bone, modern pictures added.
