I was 21, he was 23. We would have gotten married earlier but we were waiting until I graduated college (he was a year ahead of me). The wedding was less than a month after graduation.

I was 30 and dh was 35. We met when I was 27 and it was not love at first sight. We met and became friends because he could speak English well and he loved to practice ;-) Then, I couldn't speak a word of German.
Now, we speak a colorful mixture of languages here at home.

I had to debate with myself whether to click 21 or over 21, because really, I had just turned 22 17 days before my wedding. My dh had been 22 for a whole 9 months, though.

I was 21 and dh was 23. Our wedding was two weeks after my college graduation (dh was 2 years ahead of me). We got engaged about a week after my 19th birthday -- I found out later my family had placed bets on whether I would ever graduate.

I had just turned 25, dh was 24. He loves to tell the kiddos that I'm a year older, even though it's only 9 months.

I am amazed at the skewed results toward younger brides - 21 and under and 22-24. I certainly felt like I was unusual for getting married at the age I did. I was by far one of the youngest in my college crowd. There were folks from my high school that got married young as well, but it was a small town where that was common. But for friends from previous large city high school (and my own sons' high school) definitely mid to late 20s and up is the norm.
Very interesting...

I was 19 and DH was 21.
My sister were married at 19 and another sister will be 21 when she is married in the spring. My other sister is 24 and single.
My 4 married brothers were married at 20, 21, 21 and 23. My last brother is still in college and he's going to be 21 in a few months.

We were 19, and we felt like we had waited a long time. We met when we were 16.
We were too poor for an engagement ring when we got married, but he gave me one last year for our 20th anniversary. It was unexpected and meant more to me than I thought it would.

I was 24, 2 mos. shy of 25, and dh was 2 wks away from 27. He wanted to get married on his birthday so he would never forget our anniversary. No way did I go for that; our anniversary got its own day.

I was 23, dh 24. That seemed and still does seem astonishingly young to most people in the UK.

I had turned 22 twenty-five days earlier and was half way through my university degree. My husband was 27.
We met just before I turned 19 and were engaged eight months later.
It's amazing how many people were astonished that I was getting married while still in university.
Living with someone was considered normal (unmarried couples could even get married student housing), it was even normal to plan to marry after uni, but we were the only couple I knew who actually got married while still at university (even though the majority of people I knew were cohabitating with someone).

me too! (amazed, i mean) i keep wondering if there's a correlation somewhere... early marriage => attachment parenting => homeschooling
i'm curious about family backgrounds but that's trickier to look at, i suppose. my mom married at age 31. and i'm okay with my kids marrying younger. not so much dh though. i think this will be even more interesting as our own kids get married, etc. anyone care for a long-term study?

I had been 22 for two days when we got married and my husband was 23.5. Our wedding was a month after I graduated from college. Talk about stressed.
We got pregnant on our honeymoon and now I'm having my third kid and I'm just 26. People do exclaim about my age and I even had a Catholic friend of mine from high school look at me pityingly and make a comment about how I never got to be young and free and "do things" before having all this responsibility . . . Well yeah, since I have single friends my age who are jet setting around Europe and "having amazing experiences," envy is hard to avoid sometimes . . .!
But of course, I am having my own "experiences" that are pretty awesome too.

I was 29 and dh was 26 when we married. I always wanted to marry young (my mom and dad were 19 and 20 when they married), but I spent a while waiting for the right man to show up! He was worth the wait.

I was 21, hubby was 22.
I got a promotion at work that would prevent us from seeing each other much so we got married. Got our marriage license on Friday and married on Monday, cause you either had to go through marriage counseling or wait three days. :)
This has been fun,
Michelle
