She is dying of lung cancer. I am not requesting physical healing, but spiritual. She is 83 years old and attends Mass weekly, but also has a sharp tongue when she critizes the Bishops or Priests... I don't know how many decades! it has been since her last confession. Although they are friends with a local priest, she has not even considered requesting the sacrament of the annointing of the sick. We are praying for a softening of her heart and a heart full of desire for the sacramental treasures our Holy Mother Church offers. For Irmgard.

Irmgard Elisabeth Linden died this morning at 6am GMT+1.
She had received the Sacraments and was surrounded by her sons and husband during her last 2 days.
Thank God for opium and morphine...
I am heading to Mass now with the girls.
Thank you all for your prayers, may they continue.

At my dh's suggestion/request/urging Irmgard is ready to receive the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. She is beginning to decline rapidly and may not make it much past Easter...
I just don't understand bitterness. In young or old.
Please keep her in your prayers.

Thank you for the prayers.
Irmgard now needs oxygen several times a day and of course morphium and other meds that make her sleep most of the day, which is the only way to handle the pain. Some days are better than others.
We went to visit her at home last Thursday with the children. We stayed 2 hours. More is too much for her, but we live 2.5 hours away and can't get there that often. The girls know it could be the last visit. We'll see. My dh tries to get there once a week and spend the whole day.
I am thankful to report that Irmgard willingly received the Sacrament of the anointing of the sick. This is a huge help for the whole family.
Please be so kind as to continue praying for Irmgard and her husband, Johannes. (Oma and Opa)
