Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here's my original one:
Would you think less of me to know that last fall I bought a sewing machine (at my husband's prompting) to make pajamas for my kids and they are still wearing pajamas with holes in them and I have not touched the sewing machine?

My mil did use it to make cloaks for the girls!

Wow, Donna Marie. Thanks for the info!

Ahem... 14 years ago I bought material for my then-4-year old for a BEAUTIFUL red velvet dress I was going to make her for Christmas. It's half done. I thought 5 years ago I'd continue making it for then 2 year old. She's now 7 and will soon be 8. I guess I could work on it when I have granddaughters.

I have 2 shelves and 2 more boxes full of material that hasn't been touched in years. Those are next after I get rid of my magazines and books.

OH,,,this thread is hysterical...
ok,
My in-laws just left after a three day visit, so the house is pretty straight, but the master bedroom is a DUMPity DUMP DUMP right now...a while back I decided to purge through the storage boxes up there, I never finished, and the younger kids tore them up and emptied them everywhere...I don't even know where to begin to clean it up!

My drier has been broken for months. I'm too embarassed to have someone come fix it because it is such a mess of junk in the laundry room...it was fine enough over the summer, but now its' raining all the time and I absolutely MUST have someone come and fix it!

Oh, and I had apple pie for breakfast this morning.

Last year, my sister-in-law, who was here for Thanksgiving, asked if she could use a bedroom to nurse her baby. Dd 13 and I looked at each other in panic wondering which of us was to be mortified by offering our room. Dd won (or lost) because the rocking chair is in her room. All I wanted to say was, "Bedrooms? We don't have any, sorry!" Of course, in my opinion, a messy teen's room is far less mortifying than a messy mom's room.

I am sorry to announce things aren't much better. I had better get to work before Thanksgiving arrives!

This thread is just cracking me up!
Would you think less of me if you knew

-I have been sitting here for an hour reading your posts
- we consider cake and ice cream for breakfast a whole grain and a dairy
- my kitchen floor hadn't been mopped in like um 3 weeks (my hubby just did it for me )
- if someone came to my door right now I would be mortified because my house is not so clean
- I read in the bathroom ( hey it's quiet in there)
- I'm addicted to FB Farmville
- The Mass is so bad here that when we moved here 2 years ago we said a Novena to St. Therese to see if we should stop going to this Mass and we got a relic card with a pressed rose on it. So we stayed away from the Mass here for like a year. We are now going but I feel gulity like I'm ignoring our Novena answer.

Ok, whew that was good to get all that out! I think we all should do this more often. I think it makes us feel like were not the only ones who eat cookies for breakfast or who only bathe their kids once a week!

Oh my goodness, I started reading this thread with a sleeping baby in my arms and had to go put her down so I wouldn't wake her up from trying to hold in all the giggling I was doing

~we are in the once a week bathers club, unless they have played soccer
~cold pizza, ice cream, and cake are all definately great breakfast foods
~I frequently keep a fork or spoon on the counter to sneak bites of whatever dessert we have on the counter or in the fridge (sneaking food in the bathroom is genius!)
~I don't clean bathrooms...as soon as my bigger girls were old enough to learn to clean them I decided it was good for their housekeeping skills and delegated that job to them

And for the big one...
~I don't do laundry...my mom lives with us and I guess that she got tired of me getting it in the washer and the dryer but never getting it folded, so she kind of just took it over. I can't tell you how guilty I feel for that...

Ok so I just said I don't do laundry, well I am doing laundry right now My mom when out of town for a few days and had to stay longer than she expected so I am doing the laundry for now. Geez I sound like a brat by saying my mom does the laundry, I do do it sometimes! She just gets it done faster

I take excessively long showers while the kids watch cartoons. Just for the quiet.

I let my 2 year old sleep in her shoes because it makes her happy and I don't want to hear the screaming if I say no.

It looks like I'm motivated by quiet!

Thanks for a fun thread! I've been laughing for days!

Is there something wrong with sleeping in shoes?

Anything for quiet!(okay, there are some limits, but...)
