Does anyone know if just 1 set of the make-your own beeswax candles will be enough for Advent? We've not used beeswax ones before and we always seem to burn through our first week's candle before Advent is over.
Thanks!

They are enough if you only burn them during prayers and then blow them out. If you want them lit for longer, then you will need more than one kit...
Hope that helps!

The roll your own ones burn more quickly than a solid beeswax taper. It's rolled from a honey-comb sheet so there is more air, less wax. If they are are rolled tightly they will burn a little slower.

Not about real candles, but thought this was interesting.
Advent Wreath Window Poster
Looks like it would look neat from the street, with the inside lights illuminating the "candles."

Our candles arrived from Saintly Soaps yesterday. They are lovely! It did take a couple weeks for them to arrive, but coming from Canada that is to be expected. I also purchased a set of the Nativity beeswax ornaments and they are beautiful too. : ) She even included a sample votive candle in our package which was a nice touch.

Does anyone know of the rose candles from Church Candles are really a rose color? They look hot pink on my screen.

Well, I just called and the lady I spoke to said those were the actual colors. The candles look great, except I want a rose candle instead of a hot pink one. It doesn't look like their price can be beat!

Their price is good, but the shipping is astronomical, so I haven't bought from them.

I'd say! There's also a "low order fee" of $5.00, so with shipping they are over $34!

I bought these and I have to say they are worth the extra cost. They burn evenly and cleanly and the historical significance of beeswax candles is a lovely added bonus.

That is really nice to know! Nothing in the Church practices is without deeper meaning; I just love learning more of the meanings of things. Thanks for linking this, Michele!

I so agree! They are burning so nicely, and the colors are rich and deep! They're lovely Advent candles!

Our Beeswax Candle Works candles are a lot darker in color than the pictures on the website. They are also burning better than the other beeswax candles we own! They tossed in two free smaller candles in with the order, which I'm just thrilled about!
Now, I just need to find a nice, natural white Christmas candle! I may just shop brick and mortar stores for a soy candle for this year, and look for a beeswax Christmas candle for next year this Spring. I've found it difficult to find white soy candles so far that aren't scented with vanilla.

I got regular white candles and painted them pink and purple using melted crayons. It worked really well. I posted directions on my blog if you'd like to try it.

I wonder if it's a monitor issue because mine look exactly the same color as the online picture.

I found this one on Etsy. The picture is a little deceiving in the the candle is only 4 inches high but it looks nice.
My plan is to use an inexpensive white pillar with the top carved out and a beeswax tea light inserted inside.
That way we get the benefit of the clean burning beeswax without the cost of a whole pillar.

I hope I'm not being obnoxious but look at this candle chandelier! Would that just be perfect for a hanging Advent wreath. I always wanted one of those. It's pricey but SO pretty!
