I had a few books that I sold so I am sure that a few people did
I just had a messy hard drive crash...I now have a new computer (thanks to my computer-minded brother) and I am trying to catch up on things! If anyone is waiting for a package..it will be going out first thing in the morning. I had all of the addresses and info on the computer so I couldn't mail out a thing until now. Please accept my apologies for the delay.
On the plus side, I have used these last few weeks well...my house is a bit more organized and the laundry has been reduced by almost HALF! not that I spend much time on the computer usually...really!
I missed everyone so much!
Please keep up the prayers for discernment for our family. We are trying to decide if God is calling us to live in...Virgina!
..although I will always be a Jersey girl at heart!
Much love to all of you!

I did notice your absence, Donna Marie. I'm so glad it was *just* a computer crash and nothing more serious. Glad to see you back.
And make sure we meet up if you do move down this way. Got any questions about the area I'd be glad to try and help.

I have a dear friend from college that has been asking us to come down for years! They live in Fort Valley (on the other side of the mountain from Front Royal) and my dh just heard of a job opening in the Woodstock area.
There are so many factors involved and we are really praying hard, working hard and letting God handle the worry and the details. NJ is really hard to have an average job and live on one income. We have been calling it "the land of the fee and the home of the paid!"..not to mention that movie The Money Pit...we bought it 10 years ago and it is just killing us to repair! A friend from church told me to set a date, pack up the kids, and go visit my friend in Va for a week while they demolish some of the walls in the house and ready them for painting...even the bathroom...so hopefully we can walk away with money in our pocket from the sale.
This is alll God. I could never do all of this stuff! I am a super mom..not God I just get up in the morning and work hard all day with my hands and heart. I really feel like the Sacred Heart has been our refuge for the past 2 years!
I am still on the "Lord, shall we stay or go?" prayer aaand I am decluttering my house like mad. I figure if we go, I can't take this all with me and if we stay, I can't live with all this stuff to take care of! Thank God for the BIG van for the dump runs!
What do you guys think of that area? Part of me wants to try something a little more rural or somewhere where the cost of living is a little less.
My friend might be renting out her house "with option to buy" (she is thinking of moving into Front Royal because her son is in the charter school there and the commute is killing her) That house would be a great fit for my family especially with moving a family of 10!...7.5 acres...& the house can be completely heated with wood!....aaah! But! I am looking allll over yet...this is just first glance!
And advice appreciated!!

Fort Valley is absolutely beautiful Donna Marie. We looked at moving there a few years ago - I would still like to, but the commute is horrendous for my husband. Wonderful wonderful Catholic community there. Caroline on this list could give you a lot more information about the area. Abby Sasscer (Simplifying your domestic church) is from that area I believe. Mount Zion is my dream place to live.
Of course I would prefer you to be closer to us - but I think that Fort Valley is wonderful - nestled between the Shenandoah and Massanutten mountains I believe - my dh and I used to go canoeing and horseback riding near Fort Valley years ago.

HOney, it's not the moving that's stressful it's the selling a house ... or maybe it's the actual unpacking ... or better yet, it's the fact that you have more books and craft stuff than dh knew about and now you're caught ! I could write a book!
