Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Like many of you, I came to the computer this morning hoping to see some good news here. Please consider joining me in the Express Memorare novena that Mother Teresa used to have her nuns say in cases of quick need.

Memorare Prayer

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen.

We said our Rosary at Aylesbury for your dh and family, Jane. Stopped by here to post a prayer request on your behalf if you hadn't already done it. Will continue to pray for you all.

I just found this, Jane. I'll say the express Memorare novena for your DH and offer up today for your family.

You are very dear people: thank-you so much for all your prayers. I posted here just as my husband was getting into the car as I knew I could count on you all. He is still in the hospital, and had another episode of chest pain last night, for which he needed morphine. The pain, in his chest and radiating up to his jaw, is apparently absolutely typical for a heart attack, yet still the tests are coming back negative for heart damage - so far.

It reminds me of my situation in 2003 when all tests and symptoms showed that I had ovarian cancer - so much so that my doctor warned me that I would have at best five years. I believe I may have HAD ovarian cancer, and was granted a miracle through prayer. (The pathology showed a tumour so rare that it had never before been seen in my country.) Maybe my husband is having a series of heart attacks, but all the tests are negative and he will be fine because of your prayers, who knows? It is very strange.

Another terribly sad thing happened today, however. My ds 18 left home, not in a good way. He was the one I did not homeschool until he was nearly 9, because I did not then know of this option. He suffered terribly in school, and never really recovered, although the years between age 9 and age 14 were good, though challenging. He opted back into school at age 16 and it was fairly disastrous. He is so troubled: please pray for him - say a Memorare for him. I think he is in for some very difficult times. The other five children, all so quiet and good, will breathe more easily with him out of the house and maybe this is God's way of protecting them, but my own heart is breaking for my lost son.

God bless you all.

Jane.

Jane,
This has got to be a very stressful time for you.
I will continue to keep you all in my prayers and say prayers to St. Monica and St. Augustine on behalf of your son.

I will keep your intentions in my prayers.   A good recovery for you husband, and God's grace to keep your son safe and sure during this time.
