Let's post free ideas/places/web-site handouts/inspirations here. I'll start:
Last weekend Trip and I attended a lecture at Natural History on Earthworms. The lecture was great, and the lecturer, Amy Stewart was terrific, especially with kids. Click on her name for her website, and check out her speaking schedule, and find a free printable composting handout. (We bought the book, too. If you're not into Darwin, skip the first chapter. The rest is all good.)

Macbeth, I'm not sure this is the correct place for my links, so please feel free to move this if it doesn't belong here:
Two sites I'm loving right now:
Teresa's "How To Teach Science" Website
and
The Worm Woman

You can't use these images because they are copyrighted, but you can spend quite a while admiring them!

These images are incredible. Don't be surprised if our family goes though a "beetle" phase after reading this. The girls spent an hour observing a Stag Beetle they rescued from the pool the other day. They named him "Alexander" after the A.A. Milne character!

Not exactly a freebie, but free shipping on orders over $25 from SK until 1/31 with coupon code SKITFREE . We have enjoyed SK products, especially in wintry weather. They are very homeschool friendly.

Oh, we have quite a few products...the kids have enjoyed "Chemistry Bits", "Patriotic colors", "Oxidation-Reduction of Complex Ions", "Oxidation of glycerin", "solid fuel", and other small chem kits (we like chem in winter).
Games:
Planetary Pit
Earth
Space
Chem Cubes
...do a search on their site for games and 31 pages of science games will be displayed.

As an example, I put a photo of chemistry demo results on my High School Science page. This demo is called "foam city".

I found this website the other day when we were trying to figure out how to identify a tree. The print outs looked VERY cool! Hopefully it is useful in other regions too:
Nature Study Print Outs
There is a really neat "Tree Trail" identification key, but it is for trees in Britain, too.
