Dear Friends,
I am coming here to ask prayer for myself and my family. I found out on Wed. that I have cancer in the soft tissue.
I have been waiting for 6 weeks for the biopsy and the results. Waiting can be very hard but in my case it has been a good thing. God has taken those 6 weeks and has prepared my heart for my journey ahead. When the doctor's lips formed the word cancer, I felt the utmost peace. I know that I will be healed from this.
I will have surgery at the end of the month to remove the growth that is cancerous. My dr. is fairly certain (he will know more after tests and the surgery) that I will not have to have chemo or radiation. This is a good thing.
I am quickly finding out that being told you have cancer is not nearly as bad as having to tell other people that you have cancer. I was in a very good place when I got home from the dr.s but after telling people in my family about the cancer, well, let's just say the reactions were rough.
Please pray for me that I will stay in this cocoon of peace for the next month. Pray for my husband. He is having a very difficult time in handling this. The last 36 hours have been very hard on both of us. Also pray for my children. They know about cancer as we have had people around us who have battled it. They know what it can do to a person's body. I have tried to reassure them that my cancer is different but I have seen in the last day that they are not totally convinced.

Oh, Julia...I'm holding you close in prayer. May Our Lady assist you in guarding your thoughts so that you may continue to walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding.
I pray that this diagnosis will yield a clear plan of action that will be decisive and swift!
I'm remembering your family, especially your husband and children in prayer as well. I can imagine that this is very hard for them!
