Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...prayer.
I just don't really know how to start again. I feel like I've said all the the prayers, but still have that alone feeling, much like Mother Teresa experienced. I know I am not alone, but the feeling is so hard... this is the hardest thing I've ever gone through. daily in tears and not wanting to be depressed...
I am holding off starting school until after Labor day.. just cant tackle that yet. I know life goes on and I need to rejoice with those around me.. just can't put a foot in front of me yet.

Oh Emily! I was just about to PM you to see how you were. "Jesus, Mercy, Jesus, Mercy" is all I could repeat over and over again for weeks after some sorrowful experiences in my life.
I really did not want to/feel like going to Mass, or anything.
Please let us fill in for you in prayer, and we will carry you through this very lonely and sad time.
Don't worry about school unless the order helps you in some way.
many, many prayers
(((Emily)))
love,

Emily dearest...you've been in my thoughts and prayers so much lately!

Lisa is right...short prayers are about all I could get out after a time of intense suffering...I don't understand Lord, but I trust. Just saying Our Lord's name would be enough...adding Mercy would be helpful.

I remember one time hearing Father Corapi speak of visiting a dying man in the hospital. He was distraught speaking to Father saying that he couldn't pray at all anymore and was very concerned. Father reassured him saying that this was the time that our prayers would fill in for him. I comfort myself with that thought in times of suffering when I'm unable to find a prayer to even utter.

Romans 8:26 (emphasis mine)
Quote:
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.

The Holy Spirit hears the pleas and unspoken hurt of your heart, Emily. And, we all continue to hold you in prayer!

Dear Emily,

You don't know me, and it's a wonder I dare to write anything, so I pray I write nothing foolish. But I'm thinking of you and praying for you.

It's early days Emily, early days. Give yourself permission to be where you are now. Don't be hard on yourself.   The Lord is with you, He has not abandoned you. He is there in this darkness.

Your feelings do not dissapoint Him. Hold to God, hold fast to Him. Do not loose hope at the nature of your feelings. Our faith is tested most when all our feelings seem to be utterly gone. Because all comfort feels gone and without hope of return. When inspite of our feelings at this moment we choose to remain with God, the often wordless, feelingless prayers of these moments, the clinging to our Lord in spite of our devastation are A PRAYER OF LOVE.

God bless you dear sister

Ditto what everyone else has said, Emily. Let us intercede for you. Keep yourself in the present moment. And don't forget the hormonal rollercoaster that is most likely happening right now. 2-3 weeks out is particularlly hard for many women.

Surrounding you with prayer.

Praying for you Emily

Be sure and get some good nutrition.. stress, grief not only do we have to work through them but they also tax our bodies nutritionally.. good vitamins and extra B's especially may help keep your body from making everything worse.

Praying for you, Emily. Remember that even your intent to pray can bring many graces. God knows where you are--he's carrying you through this even when you feel so terribly, terribly alone and isolated. The smallest of prayers, "Lord, help me!"..."Jesus, Mary, Joseph!"...even the silent prayers that come from the depths of your hurt, are of great worth right now. I know you know this; I wish I could find words that would help you feel it as well.

Don't worry about getting one foot ahead of the other yet, just reach.

Offering this day for you.

Emily, perhaps you could put a favorite holy card or Divine Mercy image on your fridge and just look at it now and then, allowing that small moment of quiet thought to be a prayer without words?

Please let us pray for and with you, for all your spiritual and emotional needs - it's a privilege. It's our turn to give back to you.

So many girls here have said small prayers, simple words, and I agree with this so much!

In trials and difficulties sometimes that is all I am capable of and yet I know that in it is my will and nothing more, but that is a grace that calls upon heaven for more grace, sort of like the first baby steps in the right direction in terrible times...

May Our Lady be your guide and may she keep her mantle around you in a special way during these very early days..I will be keeping you in prayer.

Praying for you.

I once had a priest tell me that the DESIRE to pray was a prayer in itself.

I agree with what others have said. It IS very early. It may seem that time has passed but not much has.

Be easy on yourself. Maybe this is the school year for something super simple, a couple workbooks and reading.
Don't discount the huge growing experience of this trial. This is REAL life and that teaches kids a lot.

Keep reaching out. "Talking" to others fights depression. Come here on this forum as much as you need to and let us lift you up.

God bless. Offering a big trial for you.
