Paula, this just happened to a friend of ours, an RN nurse who was working at our son's camp as the nurse volunteer. She was stung, never thought too much of it, that is until the next morning when she noticed a red line up her leg from the sting area. She was rushed to the ER and treated. Her recovery took quite a few days, almost a week. Praying for you Paula, so not nice. God Bless

Much better, thanks! I just got back from my third and final IV med session. I still have to take antibiotics for 15 days, and was warned that my skin will peel off!
I asked if I needed an epi pen, and was told I wwould only need one if I got stung again and the swelling occured on a different extremity. I've never heard of that before!
This has been quite the learning experience.

Oh, glad you're seeing improvement! 
Skin peeling? Well, you could consider it 'death to the flesh' and make it a spiritual thing.  
And gosh, I hope you don't have this happen again!

Talk to an allergist about the epi thing, Paula, that sounds a little strange to me....Everyone I know that has venom allergies has an epi pen no matter what. I think they need to discern if this a true allergy, or was it an infection....
