Just an hour and a half away from where we are they are filming this movie!{picture gallery} Here's the news article.
How do you become an extra???  It would be a lot of fun, I reckon!
Editing to add this posting over at my blog with a ton of photos of the set we had a wonderful day out!
Update: Somehow my blog posting has found it's way onto NarniaWeb.com which says its the 'World's #1 Source for Narnia Movie News'...how cool is that??
Also in that blog posting is a link to another girl's photos, and they were taken during filming, you can go directly here to see them.
I've also just discovered that the Dawn Treader itself is being built only less than 2 miles from us..I would love to see if we can catch a glimpse of it before it heads off to the Cleveland film set in Sept.

my kids would definitely save their pennies to be an extra for that one! How cool ... sounds like a unit on films or CSLewis or fantasy or just generally Australia is in order!

Oh, I would have to go regularly and prowl around...the suspense would just kill me. We lived in the town in St. Vincent and the Grenadines where they filmed the Pirates of the Caribbean movie and were there for the early prats of the filming of the second movie. It's fun.

Yes, we've got kayaks..wouldn't want to fall out though..sharks around the place! 
We tossing up whether to go down for the day or not...
They will also be filming in our city as well in September I believe, on the southside..I think they'll have the Dawn Treader boat there for that sequence of filming..
Near Movie World which is about an hour and 1/4 away they are doing are all the sound stage work.

OK, my son is so enamored with Australia right now. First Ranger's Apprentice, now the Voyage of the Dawn Treader! I might have to contact you about doing an Australia Unit Study!

Thanks for posting the pictures on your blog! I am amazed at how they create such realistic sets!
Taking the boats was a very neat idea, and you are very brave with sharks in the area. I would want a battleship before I would go-
