I am so thrilled all the time slots are filled! Doubles and triples in the spots are most welcome.
Last night my heart was so heavy for Emily after reading her update- knowing that any moment something could change drastically. And to be away from her other children, who no doubt are also scared and suffering...
So as we were out walking after dinner, the idea suddenly came into my mind that we could be prepared and covering her in prayer, so that if things do suddenly change, prayers would already be going up. This was from the Holy Spirit, I am sure.
One tired, hot, frazzled mom, walking in the heat because the kids love to walk and never notice things like humidity, could not think of this on her own

Sweet dear friends in Christ, I am so overwhelmed by this, I am a teary mess sitting here in my room trying to read through all of these sweet messages and outpour of prayers. I can't tell you what this means to us. I am so grateful for you all.
This is definitely the most difficult thing I've had to go through. emotionally and physically. I am one who loves the feeling of a baby kicking a whirling around inside of me, but with the increased fluid varying around 28-32cm give or take, it makes breathing and walking amazingly difficult.
We have worked out a place for our 5 children. John's parents are taking them back to GA with them at the end of the week. John is going to drive home to pack them up and close up the house. I am on the closest thing to bed rest in fear that the water might break.
I'll update what the Doctors said on my blog for you to read and that way our family will also stay up to date as well.Melinda, thank you for setting this up, I am speechless for your thoughtfulness towards us. God doesn't make mistakes and there is a reason for us to go through this, as painful as it is. Thank you all.

I'm so sorry I missed this post. We're having internet problems. I will take 10 am if that's ok. Sweet Emily, you and Matthew are in my constant thoughts and prayers.

Is there someone who'd like to share the 3-4am EST with me, or possibly someone who can take it on Sunday? The rest of the week I'm usually wide awake at that hour (2-3 am CST) but Sundays we have Mass at 8:30 a.m.--so I at least *try* to get to bed sooner.
Maybe someone on the West Coast or overseas?

Emily, thanks so much for the update. I know we can't really begin to imagine how you're feeling right now, but we do know the comfort that comes from knowing we're covered in prayer. I hope that with every anxious breath comes the thought that you are not alone, not at all.
I will ask my husband to pray for John - of course, I'm praying for him, but perhaps John will find comfort in knowing that other dads are praying especially for him.
Ladies, will you all please ask your husbands to pray for John, too? He has to be everything for everyone right now - packing up kids, caring for Emily, worrying about Matthew - perhaps we can get a virtual Dads' prayer group together to support John, too.
(Returning...) My husband says he will pray for John during his daily rosaries (morning and evening).

My time management also doesn't really allow for a commitment to a specific hour of prayer, but I think of and pray for you and Matthew often, especially lately, and also remind my husband. Our 7-year-old and I also regularly pray for Matthew during our prayers at the beginning of homeschooling.

This has been such a priviledge and blessing praying for Matthew. Thank you for letting us know about Matthew and asking for prayers. I'm praying the rosary during my hour and generally add a Memorare for you, Emily - but will add a St. Joseph prayer specifically for your husband, John and an Angel of God prayer for your children.
The rest of my household is snoozing right now, but I will ask my dh to also pray for John and for my children to pray for yours - Matthew and all the others.
We cannot imagine what you are going through - but praying for Matthew is bringing us so much blessing. Hope and pray for the day that you can kiss him in person and thank him for me.
Janet

My dh will also be praying for John during his prayer time at 4 a.m. (as well as the whole family)
Here is a prayer for heart patients that we found 4 yrs ago when my sister had a heart attack. St. John of God is one of the patron saints of heart patients.
Dear Convert,
After a sinful life, through the power of God's holy Word, you learned t olvoe your fellow man. Self sacrificing, you founded the Society of Hospital Brothers. No wonder the Church made you the patron of patients and nurses. That is why we confidently have recourse to you. Please give assistance to Matthew Karol, and teach us to be kind like you. Amen
And here is another that I just found-
NOVENA PRAYER To St. John of God FOR A CURE
Saint John of God, heavenly Patron of the Sick, I come to you in prayer to seek your help in my present sickness. Through the love which Jesus had for you in choosing you for the sublime vocation of serving the sick, and through the tender affection with which the Blessed Virgin Mary placed upon your head a crown of thorns as a symbol of the sufferings you would undergo in the service of the sick to attain to your crown of glory, I beg you to intercede for me to Jesus and Mary that They may grant me a cure, if this should be according to the Will of God.
How patiently you bore the sufferings of your own disease! Teach me to carry with cheerful resignation the cross that God has given me. Let me never complain or lose courage. Help me to understand that suffering is a very important means of sanctifying my soul, of atoning for my many sins, and of reaping a plentiful harvest of merit for Heaven. I trust in your great love for the sick and in the power of your intercession to help them. Help me, good St. John, and beg the God whose name you bear to touch me as He touched the sick while on earth, that through His almighty power health may return to my body. And as you derived strength in your own sufferings from the crucifix, so may I be able to say what you did to Jesus Crucified: "Lord, Thy thorns are my roses and Thy sufferings my paradise."
Good Saint John, lover of those who suffer and special Patron of the Sick, I confidently place before you my earnest petition.
(Mention your request.)
I beg you to recommend my request to Mary, the Mother of Sorrows and Health of the Sick, that both Mary and you may present it to Jesus, the Divine Physician.
Saint John of God, patron of the Sick and beloved of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request. (Three times.)
In honor of Saint John of God:
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
Saint John of God, Patron of the Sick, pray for us.

Thank you for the continued prayers. Today is the first day I have felt a sense of hope. They are moving us next week to Michigan to be in a specialized facility who is prepared for Matthew and his heart condition. Please keep the prayers going, esp if he ends up needing a heart transplant. Picture from today on my blog.
