Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What if I am always in one or two of these categories?

This is a good thread for me right now. Exercise only happens for me if i get up before my kids (6:00am) and I know that exercise is a really good thing just like sleep. But it is SO HARD some mornings not to sleep the extra 30min to an hour. Though really, some days it really doesn't make a bit of difference whether I get that extra hour or not -- I'm still just as tired. So what are you gonna do . . .

Mary Theresa,

You have made me laugh so hard. It was just this past March that became the first time in 10 years that I have not been one of those either.

God Bless you!

I find too that if I'm up and have prayed, exercised, eaten and showered then I'm ready to take on the day (with children ). When we are in the morning routine then I get up at 6:00 and I get the kids up at 7:00 or 7:30. I've struggled with this though. I too am a night owl and often don't feel awake until late in the afternoon! We have been a bit lax this summer but I'm trying to keep my habits since I had to work so hard to make them a habit. I will sleep in though sometimes.

God Bless you, Jen! I cannot even imagine trying to cope with children that wake up so early in the morning.

I just foolishly posted the same question. I blame sleep deprivation for missing this wonderful thread.

Jennifer. I'm printing out those quotes in large font and taping them to the ceiling above my bed!!!! I know that there's no easy answer to this question, but for now it really can't hurt to mortify myself a little and offer it up! At the same time, I appreciate the advice about being careful not to go overboard and make yourself ill from lack of rest or stress.

Great advice ladies!

Peace and Rest to You All,
DeAnn

I'm reading this thread and looking wide-eyed at how early some of you get up.

And then I remember that our family's hours are adjusted to fit my husbands 3:30pm to midnight job and feel better :-) [if the household wakes up too early my husband also wakes up too early, he can't go to sleep before 1pm so ...it's a good thing our children are night owls]

What I find useful to remember when I have a nursling that wakes me up at night is to adjust my bedtime to allow for at least an hour more sleeping time then I would normally. Anything that's not done by bedtime isn't done.

It's not easy to leave things and go to bed but it does leave me with a motivator to get things done earlier.

And if I can honestly say that I just couldn't get to those things before my bedtime then I remind myself that my children deserve a mom who isn't a cranky zombie and that it will likely take much less time to do whatever it is the next day when my husband is around (the hardest thing to get used to with my husband's hours is switching my time alone to evening and my time with husband to the morning)
