Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oh good! I thought that's what it might have been. My oldest daughter had the same thing happen when she was about that age. The doc diagnosed it over the phone and was going to tell me how to fix it. I threw the phone at my husband because my legs were already turning to jelly. You are one brave mama!

oh goodness. i must have been posting while you were posting your update.   praise God that it wasn't anything serious. but oy! i can't imagine your worry.

my dh dislocated his shoulder a few years ago -- and every now and then it pops out -- once when he had the baby in his arms so he dropped her but she was fine.

are their exercises she can do to strengthen the muscles around that elbow? my dh has them, he just doesn't do them

Was praying even though I couldn't log in to post - so glad she is better now. I've heard it's pretty common!

Dramas for you Jen, while I've been peacefully sleeping!! I am just so pleased that I haven't woken to something that still needed alot of prayer and that it is resolved!

Poor Katie! Elbows... when I first read I shuddered, my Angela shattered her elbow at 2 1/2 and it was such a traumatic experience, took a long time to get the use back, I'd have to say that she now has extra flexibility with it! Anyway, offering a memorare in thanksgiving for prayers answered!

I've heard of this before, Jennifer. It's good to know it's not serious, but very worrying when you see it happen.

Peace,
Nancy

I too thought it might have been a dislocated elbow. This happened several times when the dc were young. I learned how to pop it back myself as well.

Glad you're home, Jennifer, and it was nothing serious.

I was hoping that's what it was. The same thing happened to my oldest two when they were little.

I had no idea it was so common! I had heard that children are prone to have their shoulders pop out of socket when they're young, but never the elbow. It can happen when you swing the baby by holding onto the wrists, when they fall but someone doesn't let go of their hand, they fall.

Apparently, it only happens when they're young and in my research it would seem that there is a slightly higher occurrence in girls than boys and in the left arm over the right. This happened in Katie's left arm (she's absolutely fine tonight by the way!) As we grow, the radius changes shape and prevents this from happening any more.

Anyway, good to know I'm in good company. Thank you all for the prayers!

Glad to hear all is well Jennifer...dislocations and joints that pop out easily are usually so painful.

One of my girls did the same thing when she was little whilst dancing as well, but it happpen to her wrist.
A quick trip to outpatients and a pop back in and she was home in under an hour. I was so relieved.

I have heard of it before, but I didn't think it was terribly common. Thanking God for a good outcome, and maybe it won't trouble her too much in the future?
