Okay, I've seriously fallen off the bandwagon We've been sick this week but that's a pretty weak excuse for not exercising for 2-3 weeks! I'm starting...tomorrow! And Theresa, the food is probably my biggest struggle too. I eat mostly healthy food, just too much of it Time to work on my own habits!

Took walks last night (about 1 hour) and today (a little over 40 minutes.)
Our subdivision is so boring to me that the 1-hour walk seemed easiest, because we left the boundaries of this subdivision and walked some places we hadn't before.

Remembering to bump this up just now, but better late than never, right? Have you made your plans to exercise today? This week? I have plans for tomorrow but today has been crazy. How about you gals?

Would someone like to share results from your exercise program? How are you ladies doing w/ T Tapp? I think that being a busy HS mom AND getting all this exercise in is very impressive.

I'm trying to remember... I think Friday afternoon, I took a walk with my kids, probably not even a half hour and not far so not really that much exercise, but at least it was something. Saturday evening, took a walk of about 40 minutes with just the baby in the wrap. And last night, all five of us walked for about 45 minutes.
No "plans" yet for even tonight, but there are about 2 to 2.5 hours of light left.

Okay, Angie...I remembered to join this discussion, finally! I am 32 weeks pregnant and T-Tapp is my best friend I was too sick for the first 24 weeks and then was able to start back at 25 weeks. I can't tell you how much better I feel. My schedule is six days a week. I have so much strength back it is amazing. I'm hoping I can keep it up until I have the baby. Hoe- downs are getting a little difficult (I look like the man in the back tipping over a little )but I'm keeping up. I can't go for long walks and I'm not a great swimmer. So, this is a blessing!!!

I have been good about getting up early, but not good at doing the exercise. Ugh!!! Why can't I make this a habit that I stick with instead of going through phases where I am an the wagon and then off the wagon? Can I just say that biological cycles don't help. I really have no desire to exercise during those first couple of days when my cycle starts and that can be enough to through me off for the rest of the month!
OK. Rant over. Sorry.

Charlotte, figure this out, write a book, you'll be rich ! Honestly, I always figured that I didn't like formal exercise for reasons connected to how long it takes...but 15 minutes? Come on - what's up with that?
I'm off to do T Tapp at 8:30 p.m...not my ideal but there it is .
Love,

Jenn Sal, that is so encouraging about your pregnancy and T-Tapp! so happy to see you here!
Charlotte, I can't seem to make it a priority here, either. All those brain games I play with myself.
I've been doing T-Tapp even later than you, Angie. I have to get it in, so it might be right before bed. Not ideal, but I do feel better anyway.
So Monday and Wednesday T-Tapp, and today a long walk with the boys.

Ugh. I was all gung ho and then I hurt my knee walking up the stairs last week. Yes walking up the stairs!! So I've only done a few work outs this July. But I think I can get back going on Monday. I'm going to try. My body misses it so much.

We have a new foster sweetie in the family! I so need to stay strong and healthy for this little one. I T-Tapped twice since his arrival yet my body is screaming "Why are you holding your neck this way? Why are you throwing your hip out that way?" Baby carrying is great for my heart but rough on my bod!
Jenn Sal, i.e., Sis...I think your answer is mine - I need to do this everyday - rats! From my last placement experience, I know I need to make this a priority - perhaps this is the motivation I need? Help!
ETA: Jennifer, now every time I look at the guy wobbling in the back, I think of you
Love,

Hello can I join I have been working out for about a good month and have lost about 3 inches all over.
It is pleasantly surprisng my DH and family, that I am motivated finally and have lost weight. I have not officially weighed myself I don't want that to be my motivator. I really want to be healthy...
So I am doing pilates for about 15 minutes I work on my core and my legs, and then I will do about 20 minutes of the elliptical machine.
So I intend to keep it up

Nina, you asked about results (above) and I meant to answer you. I don't have specifics right now but at one point I had lost several inches - especially in my belly area which is my trouble spot. I need to find my old measurements and start measuring again...maybe this weekend. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm done with T-Tapp for today. How's it going, friends?
Love,

Nina, I love Callanetics, although it always hurt my back (I must not have done something correctly).
I just did my T-Tapp, after not doing it again for quite a bit. I have suffered from headaches all week and can't figure the trigger.
I'm having a terrible time, and feeling very low on how bad I look, how fat I am, and that it takes too long to see progress. So then I'm tempted to just eat bonbons.
I have to agree that I need to do this every day, maybe Sundays off. It seems that if I make it a daily regimen I'll be stricter. On and off days aren't working.

Well...I was waiting to post again until I could tell you I have firmly developed a habit, but Jenn's last post calls me forward. I decided that I couldn't just boot camp and put it on the every other day schedule. It's not enough of a habit for me...so I've been Tapping every day for about 2 weeks. Physiologically, it makes sense that if you are working your lymphatic system, headaches will abound once you start exercising in this way, so DRINK, DRINK, DRINK!!! I found that out the hard way. Yet another habit I struggle with...getting in enough H2O for the day!
So...I'm back and jumping in to encourage you, Jenn! And say that you can do this! I too have decided to exercise every day except Sunday. Realistically, the best I can give right now is the 15 minute routine. I am SO UNMOTIVATED to do any formal exercise...I'd rather be doing just about anything other than formal exercise!!!! Heck, I'd much rather be sitting on the couch gobbling some form of chocolate than say...EXERCISE! Oh...wistfully longing for the metabolism of my youth! Ok...wistful longing over...back to my reality...must exercise! MUST!
Prayers for all of you...I am not naturally motivated in this department, probably because I just don't enjoy it and I'm thinking of the million other things I *could* be doing!

I'm falling asleep and am on my way to rest on the couch but I needed to come and say...
I T-Tapped again today!
I'm with you, Jenn. Doing this every day seems to be what I need to do right. (I think my brain found a loop hole with the every other day...if I missed a scheduled day I would think "I can make it up tomorrow" on the off day." NOT!
Great job, Jennifer! Please don't keep such good news from us again, OK? I so appreciate seeing this topic bumped and am so happy to not be alone in my weird lack of motivation for formal exercise...
PRINCIPLES TO HELP REACH FORMAL EXERCISE GOALS:
Exercising 15 minutes a day is better than not exercising at all.
Exercise 15 minutes every day except Sunday.
Exercise as early in the day as possible.
What principles work for you?
Thanks and again.
Love,

I'll add...
Exercising with a partner can help with motivation, accountability, and distraction . (I'm doing it with my 2 funny teens .)

Angie,
Try doing it with your 2yo next to you insisting on wearing her black paten leather church shoes! My 5yo son only jumps in for the hoe-downs. It's a riot!
