Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Very nice, Janette. Thanks for sharing.

Some additional thoughts that echo Janette's -- while we're still busier than I'd like to be, I can see things slowing down much because the two oldest kids are mostly out of the house now.

So -- while I'm appreciating the less frenetic lifestyle, I'm also realizing that it all goes so fast.... that maybe "frenetic" is simply a season that with having a large family is a given.... so yes,

a) we can take steps to alleviate it, but it's all going to be over and maybe too soon that one thing we could do is just enjoy the roller coaster ride and stop worrying about whether we are living a slow life or not

b) OTOH, precisely because it's all over too soon that we need to take steps to slow down NOW while the kids aren't out of the house yet and we can still make the most of the time enjoying their company in our home... but that if we realistically can't to not sweat it.

I guess what I'm saying is that maybe it's not the SLOW sometimes that matters most -- it's the LIFE -- it's the TOGETHER. Since I started this thread, our life has changed so much, some ups some downs, but what's helped us the most is that we've made it imperative that we keep our connection with each other, whether through busy or through slow times.

And because we are all aware that slowness or busyness affects us and how we relate to each other, we're all very conscious that we have to take advantage of those pockets of time when we can enjoy each other's company and just BE present to each other.

Group hugs, praying together, meals together whenever and wherever we can squeeze it in even if it's fast food, even if it's in the car. It all works when we do it together.
