Our friend's name has just 1 n. I'm not partial to either one. I did google the 2 n's spelling -- the main results were a Toyota truck and a British movie actress.(not that it matters, but I find it interesting)

I'd have to suggest today's saint, the great St. Louis Mary Grignion de Montfort! I think "Louis de Montfort" would make an incredible name!

Mary
Ditto, what day are you due again? I've also got nine weeks to go. Quite a few of us
Maria, I just love most of your suggestions, 5 of them I could easily have, but, does dh agree? No
Nicole, I just told my Xavier that you have a Xavier, he was thrilled to have another one
At this stage dh likes Saxon I can't think of anything else. At least to what he agrees too. He crossed Benedict and Ignatius off the list I'm trying not to think about it. I think by baby number eight you've heard so many names nothing is exciting anymore Dh likes Bernadette but I said no, we both think Siena is pretty. I would like to have a couple of names, just in case I change my mind So I'm not in a hurry to have the baby as I don't have a name.

erin, due june 30. i'm 31 weeks today. saxon seems to go with your other children's names, iykwim. that's the problem i have - there are some names i do like but they don't seem to go with my other kids' names (jarrod, seth and katia.)
i love xavier but our middle name for this baby is francis and so xavier francis is just backwards! also, we have a local college here called xavier u.
louis is another terrific name but my sister's dh is louis and we are trying to avoid two same named pple in the family.
my dh likes luke and peter - look, we've moved into the new testament! i liked elliot but none of them seem 'right.'

And by possible girl #6, it's hard to think of new favorites for me. If only I'd known that I'd have so many girls, I would have saved some of our middle names. We've already used Therese and Elizabeth for middle names, and I wish they were still available. I know some of you wouldn't mind using a sister's middle name again, but I don't want to do that.
We had a favorite picked out early, but then I learned that my new sister in law has always loved that name and hopes to name her first daughter that. She encouraged us to still choose it if we want to, and she wouldn't mind having cousins with the same name someday. Part of me wants to save it for her though, since we simply liked it a lot, but she hopes to use it for her first.
We usually have names picked out really early, but that's getting harder to do each time. Still pondering.

We have the same thing here with boys' names. I've decided I'm not even going to ponder it until after the sonogram. Girls' names would be simpler for me; why waster brain space on boys' names I might not need?

That makes a lot of sense. We always like to be surprised, so we'll definitely need two sets of names.

My thoughts for the last 4 pregnancies and the only ones I had sonos with. I had boys names picked out easily and no girls names came...so i just waited for that 20 wk sono...I didn't want to waste that "brain space" either..too much effort. Funny this time I had Jacinta Clare as a keeper and no boy name. My dc kept trying to get me to come up with a boy name just in case ...the sono showed a lil girl So we are expecting a little "Jaci"

Well, my baby is only 9mo, but I always have a store of names at the ready.
If Raina had been a boy, the name would have been *Anders Mathias*. If Clara had been a boy, the name would have been Gabriel or possibly Edmund. If Louisa had been a boy, it would have been Oliver Patrick. So, now I have three great boys names awaiting which is perfect since my one son is praying for triplet brothers. I also really love the names Nathaniel and Jeremiah. btw.
Next girls names that *I* hope to use are: Gemma Caeli and Mariana Soledad. Also LOVE Theodora ("Thea"), Evangeline, Kateri, and Helena. Mind you, dh likes none of these names.

OH, I almost forgot...for a boy I tried talking dh into the middle name Aquinas. He gave it a big thumbs down, but I thought it sounded really cool in addition to honoring St. Thomas.

And I'm a week ahead - due June 21st .
Irene, we struggled badly just to come up with a third girl's name. If we got to six, I think she would be permanently nameless! We decided on Jonathan Mark for a boy before we married, but it seems we only do girls .

Kathryn,
I hadn't forgotten you 'belonged to the June club'
Irene,
Are you just assuming that you're having another girl?
Jennifer,
My dh likes Aquinas, actually he likes Augustine to go with Saxon. Very strong.
This whole discussion has got me thinking again Not good I had put it all in the too hard basket, along with the godparent discussion.

i have new sympathy for my mother having had 7 girls. i always wondered why she just recycled our middle names. we are either marie or ann except for the twins who were named for our grandparents - hilda and clara.
elizabeth, we have never found out the sex but i surely am tempted. i have one more us next week to see if my placenta previa has resolved itself and i've never been so tempted to peek! ah the pressure of that boy name!
erin, i'm not particular. i will say, here's a problem i never thought about with regard to OT vs NT names. my oldest has a NT (saint's) name and really enjoyed reading about that saint, has a statue, necklace, etc. my poor second son has two OT names (seth adam) and won't have the same options. there are no statues or necklaces because those pple have feast days but aren't cannonized saints. i never thought about this when i was picking their names. anyway, the middle name for this baby will be frances/francis so she/he will have a saint's name regardless of the first name being OT or NT.
jennifer, gemma frances is my girl name! i love love love that name. i like mathias very much but my dh prefers matthew. matthew is too long with our last name and would always be matt (which i'm not so fond of.) i even suggested matteo but he didn't go for that either. nor did he like oliver, nathan, and gabriel and i'd be happy with any of those.
tammy, my niece is jacinta mary and she'll be the godmother of my baby. it's a beautiful name.

I have a sister-in-law names Evangeline. She goes by "Vangie", which sounds really pretty.

Hi Erin,
We're not exactly assuming that, but since we sort of specialize . . .
No, really, we have had the same boy's name for the last four pregnancies. We had planned to use it for this baby if we end up having a boy.
