They couldn't find anything on the ultrasound. Nothing.
My midwife told me not to put too much stock in it, since I could be too early for them to see anything anyways...but it was pretty depressing.
They drew blood yesterday and will again in 24 hours. They are looking for the differential in hcg. If it doubles in 48 hours, that is great. If not, then we know for sure.
Please keep praying for a miracle.
Maggie

I have my second hcg test today at 2pm EST. Please pray for a doubling in levels. I don't even know if my midwife received the first levels from Monday yet. I wish blood tests were instantaneous.
I am definitely praying that the Lord "take this cup from me. BUT, if it is {His} will, then let {His} will be done."
I don't know His reasoning, but I do know that He knows what I/we need better than I could ever imagine. I do trust that. While I may never know the reason this side of Heaven, I am confident that my Lord loves me so much that every single act in my life, whether painful or joyous, is a gift from God.
Please pray that I am able to maintain this prayer. In this time of waiting and also after, please pray that I am able to be a better mommy to the two children I do have. I have been far less than stellar lately. I have zero patience and little wherewithal to do any of the little things I should do,normally, with little effort.
Thank you all for the prayers.
Maggie

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for our darling little one. Unfortunately, it was confirmed today through blood work and ultrasound that I miscarried our child.
The heavy bleeding and cramping started on the Feast of St. Philip Neri, in the Month of Our Lady. As Philip was a name that my dear husband Sean and I were considering, we decided to name our child Philip Mary.
It was ironic, in a way, that I was miscarrying our child while on pilgrimage, and to my estimation, had some of my most severe pain in the Sistine Chapel...a place of untold beauty, and for us, also untold sorrow. At the same time, I know I was given an abundance of graces and strength from our pilgrimage--a true blessing.
In the end, we know that God's hand is in all of this. We are indeed so grateful to God that we were able to conceive Philip when we did. We were privileged to be co-creators with our Lord, and I was privileged to carry Philip in my womb, if even for a short while. We thank God for that privilege and feel honored.
We take comfort in knowing that Philip is indeed resting in the arms of our sweet Jesus and our Lady. He will never know sin, or pain, or sorrow. God has a special mission for him, and I know he will be an intercessor for our family, whispering into the ear of the Heavenly Father. We conceived a child, and God chose to give us a saint.
As Sean reminded me, our lives here on Earth are but a blink of an eye...but Heaven is an eternity. He told me that I would get to hold our child sooner than later. What an incentive to reach Heaven and bypass purgatory altogether!
We are experiencing a deep sorrow at the loss of our child. Please keep us in prayer, as this is incredibly difficult.
Thank you all for the prayers, for your patience with us, and for your continued support.
Jesus, We Trust In You.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, Maggie. You are in my prayers as you mourn the loss of your precious Philip Mary. I am asking his intercession on your behalf and on behalf of your husband and children.
to you, Maggie. It is very painful at the Foot of the Cross, but there is so, so much peace there, and so many graces - an ocean of them.
Many prayers coming.
