Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't think I can PM you so I will post this information here. You, of course, have my prayers, but I wanted to offer you some practical tips for surviving panic attacks.

1. Deep breathing!!! This one is the best! Slowly breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, breathe out for 4 counts.

2. Drinking cool water. It really can lower your anxiety level.

3. Find something that soothes you and use it as often as you have to. I love peppermint and find it very soothing. I usually keep Altoids in my purse and Burt's Bees Peppermint Lip Treatment.

4. If you have to take a moment for yourself, then take it. Head to the bathroom, duck into a closet or find someplace to be alone. Some panic attacks are triggered because you get so worked up about possibly having a panic attack that you find yourself actually having a panic attack.

5. Find someone you trust, your husband, mom, a close friend, who can help talk you through one. Most people who suffer from panic attacks will think they are either having a heart attack or have a brain tumor. Find someone who can be your voice of reason when all reason seems to escape you. They will keep you grounded.

Please know that I will be praying for you in a very empathetic way. I also had to attend a wedding during a time when I hadn't learned any techniques to help me with my anxiety. My heart will plead for you to be spared from any and all anxiety until this weekend is over!

Praying for you to find peace and strength.
Trust in Our Holy Mother and Jesus's Sacred Heart they will never let you down.

Saint Dympna is the Patron Saint nervous disorders, neurological disorders, depression and more.

A Prayer to Ask from Saint Dympna:
Lord, our God, you graciously chose Saint Dympna as patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially those for whom we pray. (Here mention your intention).

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of Saint Dympna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

HTH

Praying for you! This is such a hard cross to carry, praying that this may this quickly pass and you will be able to go to the wedding and enjoy the occasion.

I will keep you in prayer via ST.Michael & Our Lady .
I have a blog devoted to healing etc. there is also a very posative survivors website I belong to .Not hatefelt , negative or anything like that .It is for those who have survived any type of abuse .some websites can be very vengful and based on hate and are very hard for survivors to heal in places like that.
On this survivors website there are also many who have dealt with police etc. I found it via a friend of mine who is also a survivor also a lovely catholic lady who wrote a book about her survival story .
Please feel free to PM me if you'd like the links .
remember you are never alone there are many who are willing to talk and listen and I personally in Our mission wish to help other survivors come to know how much Our Lord needs them to help His little ones who are still being harmed .
May Our Lady hold you and comfort you ~ Amen
