oh Prayers for you Cindy... as soon as you can if you can get on some good pro-biotics that will help replace the good bacteria in your gut that the antibiotics are killing off with the nasty bug.
That could help you avoid future gastro-intestinal problems as well as thrush and other yeast overgrowth problems.. especially with a newborn.

ACK! I am sorry!
I came down with pneumonia on my due date with my fifth!
He is the only one who went past the date......by 11 days.
I told God: if you put me into labor now......you can just kill me......I cannot breathe AND go through labor right now
So, you see God sent him later so I could make it
Anne is right......it WILL take weeks to recover......GIVE YOURSELF at least SIX weeks to be mostly recovered. Accept it.
I am praying to Saint Bernadette for you........my usual patron of lung issues.

Still praying, Cindy!!! And seconding...or maybe thirding the idea of re-introducing those helpful bacteria through some very good probiotics like yogurt with lots of happy little live lactobacillus acidophilus and all his friends!

Cindy, I also was in the hospital for double pneumonia when I was 6 months pregnant with my 5th.
It was the Christmas holidays at the time and we were away visiting relatives. I ended up in a strange hopital with a strange doctor. It happened to be a woman doctor who was pregnant with her 1st. She was NOT supportive of me still nursing my toddler and she was NOT supportive of big families. She thought my dh was working me to death etc... The hospital stay was very stressful but I was SOOOOO..... glad to be on oxygen!!!! Breathing was such bliss!!!
Just expect a very long recovery time and relax. I also took the probiotics afterwards which I think were very helpful.
I'll be praying for you and your wee one. Lots of hugs!!

Thank you everyone for your ongoing prayers. I just wanted to update you and let you know that I was discharged from the hospital today. Praise God! I will probably have another good 2-3 weeks of recovery here at home, but at least I am at home with my family.
I did get the opportunity yesterday afternoon to head down to the E.R. to be with my husband and youngest ds, Colin who is 2. Turns out Colin also has pneumonia plus a double ear infection and pink eye. His oldest brother, Brian (5) isn't doing so well either. Seems I infected almost everyone here.
Please continue to pray for my whole family as we fight off this gunk. Thanks again, and know that I am offering up your intentions in prayer.

Oh, Cindy...that sounds so awful...not the part about you going home - I'm delighted to hear that you'll be able to recover at home now - but the little ones are sick as well now?
I am praying that the next few weeks bring with them healing and lots of rest for you and all the family!
Do take care of yourself...I wish I could pop over and set up a few baskets of books for you next to the couch...
