Just bumping this up. Still praying for you and Josh, Holly. I hope things are going as well as can be expected. I know how draining it is to have to shuttle back and forth to a distant hospital. Praying hard for special graces from the Holy Spirit.

Hi,
I have not really been on in a few months. But thank you for praying for Josh. He is at home on dialysis now and we seem to be having one minor complication after another, not withstanding teens wrecking into me, etc. Currently, we are struggling to get living donor testing going. And trying to juggle the dialysis, 6 kids, nursing, a home, some sort of teaching, and scheduling for a transplant that will be done 2 hours away is super time consuming. I see as a best case scenario that a transplant could not happen before the end of September. And then it is a really long year post transplant with all the visits. I just sat down and realized that this renal failure has or will cause some time of major suffering on every single birthday this year...
I keep trying to feel spiritually positive about everything but that is getting to be rather difficult.

Holly your strength is inspiring, a mother who is doing everything for those she loves in all ways particularly for Josh who is equally inspiring. What a strong boy he must be through all of this! You have my continued prayers, I will remember you both in my morning offerings. May September come quickly!

Holly, praying for your beautiful boy, and your entire family. I have seen in our family that the sickness and suffering of one of us really does bless all of us. Yes, logistics can be a nightmare, and I pray that you will find ways to ease those. But really, there will be spiritual and character fruits from this in all of your family, no matter the age.

Thank you all for your continued support. Last week we were dealt another blow. My husband is no longer a viable match. He was 7 years ago but not now and the other generous father who was tested is also not compatible.
Joshua's previous kidney rejection altared his immune system and now he is sensitized to certain proteins. He is potentially so bad that it will be the equivalent of searching for a needle in a haystack. I will find out more tomorrow.
I am trying very hard not to feel bitter at the moment.
