I struggle with how much to reveal here as my brother is such a private person, but he has assured me he is greatly in need of all prayers and I have the most confidence in you prayer warriors.
My brother, Chris was diagnosed with an agressive and rare brain cancer at the age of 21 - that was 11 years ago. Emergency surgery removed a tumor the size of a tennis ball from his brain. He recovered so well after treatment  and was cancer free for 7 years. 2 years ago the tumor returned and has not diminished. He had surgery 2 years ago to remove the tumor, but treatment so far has not held it off and the tumor is growing...again...necessitating Chris' 3rd brain surgery.
Chris has stayed just behind the curve of science this whole time - that is to say, he benefits from the little bits science learns about his cancer since the last time he was treated. His cancer is so rare for his age that there are no protocols, no success stories, only guesses. You can imagine how difficult that is for my mom and my brother...for all of us. It has been one long lesson in TRUST.
His 3rd surgery to remove the tumor is on May 7th.
I'm asking first, that our late Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, would offer Chris a miracle of complete healing.
I'm asking you to pray for the success of this surgery, that the tumor is removed with clean margins, and that not too much motor skill function is lost - he's had 2 other surgeries in the area, there's only so much of the brain you can remove before loss of function.
And, could you pray for one last thing...I will be leaving my precious little nursing toddler here with her daddy so that I can be with my mom and family for the long surgery.  It isn't far from us, but it will be an overnight stay...at least. I've had to do this 2 other times with the other children that were older nurslings at the time of past surgeries and though they seem to be fine, I struggle.

Jennifer, be assured of my prayers, I will remember Chris in my morning offerings.
May God draw good out of all this tremendous suffering..I can only imagine what Chris must be going through approaching his 3rd surgery.

Chris's surgery is the day after Lily's....I'll be uniting our suffering with Chris...and praying for the surgeon's wisdom...peace for the family and above all healing for Chris. Please keep us updated!
