So when you do colors, how do you choose. I find myself always doing brown or black b/c they 'go' with everything. I'm hesitant to spend $ on some of the great colors because I'd feel limited...

I've been thinking about this myself. I like brown and white sandals, but I would like to do something more fun. So I've been thinking about the basic color combinations of my clothing. I tend to wear very plain clothing colors...versions of khaki, brown, white, olive green, and denim, mostly. I rarely wear shirts with patterns to them, stripes always add unneeded weight or length (I'm already taller than most everyone I know) and I really dislike wearing florals (although I like them on pillows and blankets ). I was thinking about what color might look good with most of the colors in my closet. Is that weird???
I've decided a babyish or cloud blue would look nice, or a pale pink. I think it makes more sense for me to add color through my shoes or a handbag/diaper bag (hence my love for Vera Bradley!) than with printed clothing.

I love red and navy sandals! Navy or red with khaki is darling...red with black, nice...navy with chocolate brown or olive green...either with grey or white. Those are my favorite colors for summer shoes. I also dig a good metallic...silver, gold, or copper sandlas look so spiffy and girly and go with anything.

No way! I've never been brave enough to try the metallics, but I have always looked twice at the silver ones, in particular. You brave and cool hsing mama, you!

I like the nice dark burgandy colors.. they work about teh same as a dark brown but have that hint of red to them.
Oh.. and I picked up one cheap pair that the toe is woven of different colors.. like a light tan and burgandy and brown. those are great..
Oh and burgandy works with black better than a brown would

Books--Deep in my heart I'm a fashionista dying to come out...I love fashion mags, shows, info...but the combination of budget, practicality, and my body shape (it's been pregnant and/or nursing for the past eleven years) prevent it...so I take it all out in my shoes. Nothing appeals to my girly side more than a pretty pedicure and hip shoes!

That's so funny. I never saw myself as a fashionista in the closet, but I think my penchant for Vera Bradley is that side of me peeking out. No matter how pregnant or postpartum I am, a bag still looks great!

Chirping in here to RAVE about my Chaco Hipthongs which I've been wearing for the past month and absolutely LOVE!
**They are so comfortable!
**They look GREAT with skirts and capris and are very feminine.
**They are adjustable and the straps come up really high on the foot, so they stay on even with really active activity (I played kickball and ran in them all day!) and your toes don't have to "grab" them to keep them on like you would with a regular flip flop.
The only bad thing is that they are SO GREAT, I want ANOTHER fun color. (I got black.) And, you do have to bend down to pull them on...they don't just "slip on" like other slides or slip-ons.

I had some and I didn't like them, Charlotte...could just be my feet though. I had heard great things, so I tried them, but they just didn't fit well for me, and I didn't find them all that comfortable.

I have a couple friends who have them and like them, but their life isn't as.... well.......shall we say "active" or "gross" as mine
The leather is too hard on them for me.....they seem to cut into my foot too much.
