We were invited to a friends house for a party so I don't have to really cook - just bring a side dish. Something with lots of dairy I suspect...but haven't decided for sure. |

Just laughing here, Mary , about the side dish thing
We went to a Mardi Gras Potluck last night, and it was great, but everyone was assigned a dish based on the first letter of the last name.
Main dish was A-H, dessert was I-P and side dish was Q-Z
Usually that system works out very well, but last night it was spectacularly out of whack. There were about 10 main dishes- all of them pasta of some type , 3 side dishes (two breads and one salad), a ton of desserts and other than the salad, not a fruit or vegetable in site.
Of course, all the food was delicious, but it was unusually off kilter and made me laugh. Pasta and dessert and no veggies- my kids had their dream dinner!

Pancakes! We have a fun "Pancake Tuesday" tradition in our home. You can read about it on my blog:

Happy Mardi Gras/Pancake Tuesday everyone!

Tuesdays are so busy there's no way I can manage sauerbraten and potato pancakes for dinner tomorrow night and I don't have time to marinate the beef roast for sauerbraten tonight.
I think I'll do the roast and potato pancakes tonight. And be able to do something simple tomorrow. though I should be able to manage pancakes for breakfast |

I make Venison Sauerbraten quite often in my slow cooker. Yum!

Just looked up King Cake, had never heard of it before! neat! Not sure if I can manage it but I might make it with the dc, looks like such fun! We used to eat Packzi, they are sold everywhere on both sides of Detroit MI border, where dh grew up and we spent the first half of our marriage.
