Ummm...Marilyn, did you replace the amazing open by itself trash can??? Or are you referring to that same one you had?? I love that thing.

BIG Costco shopper here......I buy so much there, it is crazy. Gas is crazy cheap there compared to everywhere else....and I love the veggie section especially in the winter. I buy the huge cans of tomato sauce to make our own spaghetti sauce, that is a huge money saver....we LOVE this frozen bread, forget the name, but comes two loaves to a pack, five packs to the box....goes great with our frequent soup dinners during the winter.

We go to Costco’s so much, that the cashiers often ask how Lily is doing.....and one in particular is so sweet to Pete, always bantering about football and such with him. I want to work at Costco’s!!

OK - I was trying to avoid the dustbin chronicles and rave about my trash can (yeah some girls want diamonds, I want trash cans!!) The one you saw had been temperamental for a year or so and finally quit opening. It's demise was hastened by a boy who was cleaning it and dropped the lid!

So after a ridiculous amount of time spent researching and looking for the perfect trash can - I bit the bullet and got the Simple Human pedal retro one from Costco. Having recovering from the shock of the cost, I am now totally enamoured - it is so sturdy and cute and should survive the wear and tear of many kids.
