Oh, Mary, you are SO right!  & 
And this is MY one who gives it his all....so the injuries are usually OUCH!
He has a bad headache, of course.....but he is doing better.
He is not happy the doctor wants him to take it easy for at least two weeks.......as in NO basketball OR snowboarding/skiing.
Maybe that is where I will really need the prayers?  As he suffers through the last two weeks of basketball season........on the bench.
Thanks for all of the prayers.....and especially to his friends in the Sierras and the California desert!
And, Janet.....I had to wake him up every two hours last night.....and then go to work today. I AM exhausted.....and I get to work tomorrow, too!
As long as I am here.......please pray for my day tomorrow......I have not worked as a bedside nurse since the second week of Dec.......I am SO feeling out of my element! I get to care for a 48 yo woman, who just had her 6th baby.........first one in 13 years.

Very relieved things are going OK!
I know I've heard repeat injuries can cause problems. When Aidan smacked his head on the street (you remember that since you were right there!) I kept my eye on him for several weeks after. Takes time -- no fun for an athletic 12 year old

Chari,
I have been through two terrible concussions with my two oldest sons. My oldest son was in pain for nearly a year. His was obviously the worst.
My second son got a concussion his first b'ball game of the year- recipient of one dandy charge and you could hear his head hit that wood floor all over their gym.
The biggest thing is that your son does not participate in any sport for 2 weeks after he has absolutely NO symptoms of the concussion (it may be longer depending on the grade of concussion your son had).
I am the "concussion mom" at my son's school and have been reading and getting them info from the CDC. The biggest danger is second impact syndrome. I don't want to scare you, but this is one of my crusades, of sorts. I have been surprised how uninformed the coaches and trainers have been about concussions and their dangers.
I know how hard it is to keep a very active and competitive boy on the sidelines. I have likened mine to a caged tiger.

Yeow. Just seeing this and praying for him. I just went through something similar in Nov. with my 13 yo. What is with boys that age? My guy was soooo disappointed he didn't remember the ambulance ride!

Prayers have been on their way to you the past day and here's hoping a little rest will be all it takes to get back onto that court again. Thanks for your prayers and comments.
Garrett is fine though he still has a mild headache and neckache.
He got sick two days later, so it was hard for me to know if he felt worse form the cold of the head bump. 
Stacy, thanks for your info.......it sent me all over the internet, where I collected a lot of info. I have shared it with other parents and coaches.
I am going to be a "concussion mom" too, thanks to you!
It is a new crusade of mine, too.
I am going to post it over on OLGR forum shortly, just to give our friends here a bit of info, in case they find they need it.
And, thanks for the prayers for my day as a bedside nurse......I started out with the VERY WONDERFUL couple, the mom who had her 6th baby, at age 48.....turns out we had so much in common, including hsing!
But, before I could spend even two hours with her....I got another wonderful patient.....a young girl who came in and delivered 100% natural 40 minutes after arrival. It was a wonderful day! Thank you so much!

I cannot believe I am here to ask for more prayers.... 
Garrett is over 8 weeks past his injury....yay......except, it seems his head is a magnet to everything! 
This week alone:
he fell in our dining room, on his head.....and got a goose-egg.....and cried for half an hour.....
then, last night, while playing baseball....he walked past two teammates arguing over a bat........and just as he passed them, one of them, grabbed the bat hard hitting him in the spot of the original injury, accidentally in the back of the head.... 
And, while up at bat........he has almost been hit in the head twice.....been hit in the back once, in the arm once.....and is ducking at least once every time up at bat......and, they have only played THREE games thus far this season!!!!! YIKES!!!!
Would you please beg his guardian angel to keep his head safe.........and the pitchers' guardian angels to keep those balls from my son's body!
