I somehow just deleted my reply. That was probably to everyone's advantage since it was very long and filled with minutiae concerning my current routines. Thank you for all your input!!

The commissary has earlybird shopping so I take advantage of that and shop without the kids. It's quieter and there aren't any retirees slowing me down. I don't know what I'd do if dh ever deployed again.

Every other Monday - Walmart
Every other Wednesday - Costco
Every other Wednesday - Sprouts
Every other Saturday - dh picks up Bountiful Baskets Coop Order
So I voted "weekday" for the bulk of my shopping.
Love,

I voted other. My dh picks up items on the way home such as milk and bread (we really need a cow ). I try to shop every weekend for staples and groceries for the week. Our kitchen is small, so there is not a lot of storage space.
I have the green grocer deliver once sometimes twice a week.

When we were living in Austria, we had to shop just about every day as the kitchen was so small and the fridge like one you'd see in a dorm (about 3 ft tall!). But it was kind of fun (in an odd, quirky sort of way) and our older son (he was 12-14 at the time) earned money by doing the shopping and got really good at it! He became such an economy shopper (and converting euros to dollars and back again ) that he once brought home a huge bag of onions because they were cheaper than buying a few -- and he doesn't even LIKE onions!

Mary, we have that dorm style fridge! I can't believe the owners before us cut that super huge nice icebox out and stuck a dorm fridge in, boggles the mind. So as a result I have to shop every few days.
Monday after Youth Group at Winn Dixie or Publix as commissary is closed.
Wednesday before CCD at commissary storing cold goods in those silvery bags.
Friday after choir at commissary, usually stopping at Winn Dixie or Publix afterward for the things the commissary is out of or doesn't stock (usually a fresh veggie or real bread).
KC, the commissary's early-bird opening down here is for the snowbirds on their scooters. If only it were the other way about!

i voted other. i shop at one store on monday, wednesday or friday, depends on how busy/short of supplies we are after taking dd to college just before 8am. saturdays are for the warehouse store. it doesn't open until 9am and i like to be done shopping as early as i can. sometimes dh and i go in the afternoon as a date.
my dd works near a store so stop for quick things-milk, bread, fruit, etc. after taking her top work.

I picked weekdays. I love to shop, so I usually take the children to the store on Monday for our big trip. We tend to also run to the store once during the week... partially because I usually forget something important and partially because we live in a development with a little walking path that leads us past a nice pond with ducks and right up to the Food Lion and Happy Harry's

Oh, I am really looking forward to doing this! Only 7 more years to go. My dd loves grocery shopping. She loves reading the labels, she loves standing in the check-out line. She told me that she wants to be a cashier someday I like to leave her home when I'm doing a "big shop," though, because she talks non-stop and I always get distracted and forget things!

Oh don't leave her at home Lisa.. just put her in charge of the list
My oldest is great at that.. I can also tell her to remember something we need when I don't have a list and she's usually better than I am at remembering.. or at least.. when we get to the check out and I ask her if there's anything else.. she's more likely to remember what I told her than I am

Bill goes on Sat morning and takes 2 or 3 helpers along. He's very efficient and not an impulse buyer at all. He also "surprises" me with a pint of icecream a week.

Pete goes with a couple "helpers" to Sam's Club on most Saturdays.
I go to the grocery store about 2/month during the week.

Other. Internet shopping for me. Shopping with 4 dc in tow is my idea of purgatory -- I don't know how larger families do it!
