Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

But, please remember that many of the folks who work at these schools are usually committed to Catholic education and willing to take 90, sometimes even 80 percent LESS than what they'd make in the public sector ... and with longer hours. So the tuition is usually as low as they can make it.

That said, if you are truly interested in sending your child(ren) to the school, often the school will work with you to assure that happening. Often Catholic schools are willing to give scholarships, aid, or work-in-kind so folks can send their kids to school. So, I would ask ... it can't hurt!

Blessings and prayers to you and any others who might want their kids to go to Catholic school!

what a nice post! I am SO grateful to the many wonderful men and women who educate my oldest in a Catholic High School. (and to be honest, was very surprised and grateful to discover many male teachers- primary wage earners, some even with largish (5-6kids) families)

tuition here runs up to 3,000ish for elementary, and 4,000ish for high school. while it is a stretch (don;t laugh, we're in a lower cost of living area!!) it can be done.
my son does a very flexible work camp in the summer- which is open to any child regardless of income (the kids call it "poor camp" ) and we have a tier approach to financial aid- first to the diocese, then to the parish, then to the school itself.
many people give up after applying at the diocese. I think they feel like it is too much work to also submit to asking at the parish and then the school.
I'm grateful for our financial aid, and really think the tuition is worth far more than a one week trip to Disney, etc....
