Update #4, Feb. 2:
Samantha is doing very well. She was taken off the ventilator last night with no trouble and is alert enough to follow her teddy bear with her eyes and head now that the sedatives have worn off. She's kicking, too.

Update 2/10:
Samantha has recovered reasonably well from her surgery - she has been in and out of the PICU and is now in a preschool room (very good). Please pray that she remembers how to drink from a bottle - poor baby, she's in the hospital so often she forgets - and that she continues to improve.
Your prayers are working...Samantha's surgery was very serious and she is smiling and playing with toys now...very wonderful. Thank you so much for praying for her!
