Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Great point! I think it's wise to see what time of day we function best and then work with that. I've noticed, for instance, that from 1-4 pm is my biggest slump. I have virtually no energy then.

I think my husband also has an early afternoon lull, whereas that is generally my best time of day. It's hard to tell what "time of day" person he is, but probably more toward morning. One difference between us is if we have to get up with a lot less than an ideal amount of sleep, he will start to feel normalish fairly soon but have trouble staying awake earlier than usual. I will usually feel pretty bad for a long time (or crash after a slight energy increase immediately after getting up) but then start to feel more normal at night, and may still have trouble going to sleep earlier than usual if I have the opportunity. It's easier for him to wake up on very little sleep and easier for me to stay up a long time.

Not as easy as it used to be, though. When I was younger w/o kids my "prime time" of day was probably about 7 pm to 1 am, now it's probably both shorter and earlier.

Well...the date stamp and avatar might provide a clue to my tendencies...

Usually it's anywhere from about 11:00 PM -1:00 AM that I go to bed - though probably once per week it's later, when I'm trying to catch up with stuff.

I go to bed WAY too late. Before midnight is a rarity and I should be up before 7.   Unfortunately, I am not very productive during this time :-(

I'll couple this with a prayer request - that I go to bed. I have trouble making myself leave a good book or the computer or an old movie or...

I vaccilate between around 10:30 and closer to 2:30. Some nights I don't sleep at all. I am a fretter and often get too "wound up" to sleep at nite

I work better late at night when the house is quiet. I have had great conversations with kids that wander down to see what I am up to at midnight.

But I have to get up at 4:45 to get my dh and oldest son up and out for their day. Luckily, I can nap for about an hour after lunch.

No help am I?

I am not looking for help I too go to sleep around 1:00 am and I wake at about 7:30-8:30 am we start our school late and so it just works for us. But if we have a big day ahead of me then I know I have to at least be in bed by 11:00pm.

I think as long as it works for you then that is all that matters.

It morphs here with each passing year and new child. Right now I'm going to bed between 9:30 and 11:00. Typically more like 10:30. But the toddler still nurses at least 2-3 times and we are often up at 5 AM when our earlybird 3yo gets up.   I've been more tired lately than usual, I think it's winter coupled with the almost 40yo thing.
