Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Jenn, you and I must really be on the same track for simplicity. I am looking for things that can be used more than once, that will be looked forward to year after year, but are simple enough that I can ask my dd's to set it up if I can't. I was really encouraged when I read that your mom put you in charge of some of this when you were young. I think that I am going to pass on St. Days this year, except for St. Patrick, St. Valentine, and St. Nicholas. There are enough feasts and solemnities that need to be focused on, first. I found some simple prayers online for the Feast of Mary, Mother of God.

Mary, thank you for the candle tutorial. Oh wow about the symbols for Mary, page! Other than a letter M, I dunno about artistic flowers. I can barely draw a stick figure!    Maybe I'll just let the girls figure it all out. They'll enjoy it and I won't have an anxiety attack if it doesn't look perfect as long as they did it. I'm trying to avoid an attack of craft-itis like Jenn mentioned somewhere.

I LOVE doing crafts, and my son does, too. I just like to have a simple base to know that we're covered just in case "life" happens and the plans I made to do for feast days fall by the wayside. So I like a simple display and a picture book for the feasts, and all the rest is gravy.

Jenn, lately I am a complete craft failure. I have crafts that have been planned for 2 yrs that are starting to collect dust now because "life" happens and we never get to them. I think I have felt like if I couldn't do it all, then it wasn't worth it to even do anything. I don't want that to happen this year, so I am working on putting a basic plan together that is "life proof".

I read somewhere that Mary can be celebrated with sweet smelling things...so we made gingerbread on the 8th of December this year. It was wonderful!

Last year I made a candle for the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus. I need to remember where I put that (well I have a month to look for it right?)

I personally want to do less crafts and more tradition things for the kids to remember the feast days that we celebrate on a yearly basis. This year I totally dropped the ball on hubbys feast day-St. Stephen. Maybe I should ask the church to move it to a more convienent time? I mean really the day after Christmas? Doesn't the first martyr need a Sunday? wink wink.

Thanks for starting this link....It's helping me to be more organized!

I just bought CHC's liturgical collection pictures.

I'm exited about them. January is "Madonna and Child" for the Solemnity of Mary. I am going to display the picture each month on season table for our liturgical celebration.

You may all already be familiar with them but thought I would share just in case....
