Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey y'all -- I thought I'd update you.

My brother in Reading drove down and took mom to SF on Wed and again on Sat to see Anne -- Anne is still unconscious (as of Friday night) but they've run a few tests (brain scans etc) and those were "positive results" -- whatever that means.

She still has a tube in her nose for oxygen and swelling on her brain.

Please continue praying for her -- it's so hard not knowing what's going on!

Just wanted y'all to know -- mom called and said that Anne sat up yesterday and talked. It's been nine very stressful days for us all, but it seems she'll be ok -- she recognized her name, they've removed all tubes (except a feeding IV) and they're movign her today from the ICU at SFGeneral to Kaiser Hospital (where all us chil'ens were born!). I may be heading out to see her -- we still have to work out the details.

But I did have to say -- thanks for the prayers! They were certainly efficacious. My dh was in Rome last week and prayed at the tomb of JP2, so that had to have helped quite a bit. [Actually, it's a family joke that JP2 was our uncle -- he was from the same area of Poland as my grandfather and looked very much like my dad -- so I'm sure he put in a good word for Anne!]

Isn't God good?

Hey Mary, maybe we are related and not just kindred spirits. JPII was from the same area of Poland as my grandfather and looked very much like him!Or, maybe all Polish grandfathers look pretty much the same...

So glad to hear good news about your sister!

Hey y'all -- I thought I'd give you an update:

My sister is still holding her own. She is in Kaiser in SF but it's planned that she'll be moved up to Vallejo (right near Mom) for physical therapy -- it's as if she has a stroke in that she uses a walker to get around but is up and NO tubes (not even a catheter, praise God!) and she's getting cranky. Mom says her speech is a bit slurred -- almost like she's drunk.

She played poker yesterday with her 24 yos -- he told Grandma that he didn't cheat and she still won! Please continue to keep her in your prayers as the recovery may be long.........not sure how long she'll be in Kaiser-Vallejo but at least she's up and moving about.

THANKS more than I can say for all your prayers and well-wishes....

Hey y'all -- just wanted to update you on my sister, Anne.

Nov 22nd she was hit by a van walking to work. For NINE days she was unconscious. Today, December 28th she has been sent home with a walker and some things she has to be careful of, but otherwise a clean bill of health.

My mom is funny -- she says all the non-Catholics want to take credit for Anne's recovery (aren't we great doctors, nurses, husband, etc) when Mom says God used them as instruments and some credit should go to Him too! Anne was able to be home for Christmas Eve thru Christmas afternoon (to see how she'd do at home) and so they said she's had a miraculous recovery.

Thanks to all of you for your many, many efficacious prayers and wishes. We couldn't have gone through this without this strong spiritual support!

THNKS and BLESSINGS to you all!
