Thank you for the prayers. Dh is bringing him home now. Please pray that we can say the right things to reach him. I have no idea how to parent this kid!

Molly, take heart, mother's prayers are EVERYTHING and the fruits show in God's perfect time. I've just finished reading a most wonderful story on the life of St Camillus de Lellis from the latest edition of 'From the Housetops' - when I read it last night I thought of you and your son, here is EWTN's story of his life, his feast day is July 18.
The reason his mother prayed SO hard for her son, because at his birth she had a dream he had a red cross on his chest, followed by many others with the same marking...in those days, those condemned at the gallows had a crimson cross marked on them and so she thought he would be a leader of a gang of bandits but it was in fact the sign of his new order once he converted..so this dream misinterpreted, actually brought about the reality of the dream...
I am asking this saint to interceed for your dear son Molly!

Wow, what a story! Thank you for sharing it. It helps me to believe that it is never "too late".
Thank you everyone for your prayers. My son is home. We talked some things out, a lot of "baggage" that has haunted him for a long time. I was so worried that he would leave or that if I came down to hard on him that he would harm himself.
Things seem better, for the time being. It's a roller coaster with him. But, for now, he is doing his schoolwork and helping out more. I pray that he can stay focused.
He really has a good heart, but is fighting some demons and SO drawn in by the "world"! I truly regret the day I sent him to public school. His ideas of "everyone's doing it" about so many things just break my heart. I believe that he will grow into a good, faithful Catholic if he can live through this time of confusion.
Anyway, sorry to be tardy with the update. My baby boy has been sick and in my arms for the last four days. I have been grateful for the prayer support and have had the intentions of you all on my heart.

I am happy to hear he is safely home again!
Molly, I talked about a well known prayer to recite for our children, especially the ones most in need here. To me, it is a powerful, ancient prayer that would be very effectual.
A dear friend recently put me onto it and she recites it for her oldest child.
