We have had a laptop since last December. By ditching the desktop, we were able to get rid of an entire media cabinet. Previously, we had a tv armoire AND a computer armoire, now the laptop fits in the keyboard drawer of the computer cabinet. Huge space savings for us in our wee little house. we plug it in most of the time, but we can unhook it from power and the printer very easily. I'm so glad that we made the change.

HOWEVER, Apple gives homeschoolers an educator's discount, and treats us like public schoolers as far as price (my husband is the one who pushed that through!)

Bill Gates, and his platform, give lots of money to anti-life causes, so I'm not sure you can claim buying a microsoft pc or a microsoft clone is taking the moral high ground.
