We love many of the suggestions already posted, but I also LOVE Vivaldi's Four Seasons!
My sister said the other day, Sarah (our 10yo) is SO different from other girls her age. You're doing SO much good by homeschooling her. She came up to me and said, *I just LOVE Tchaikovsky!* And she said it like she truly LOVES his music!
She's often told me, *Mom, (insert cousin's name here) doesn't like classical music (as if that's a crime ). She just doesn't KNOW what she's missing! She's probably never really listened to it!*
Ahhhhhh....................the JOYS of the Lord giving me PEACE about the choices we've made in following His calling for us to homeschool!
When I really truly THINK about this, and what this means, it gives me shivers! Not that every child who goes to school doesn't like classical music, I know that's not true, but it's just so much more wonderful that if they LOVE something, they can love it without worry and delve into their talents and loves like music and reading and writing and not be labeled a DWEEB because of it!

Tracy, this reminds me of a friend...her daughter (3) did not like Peter and the Wolf. I asked her about her favorite music, and she said, "I don't like Prokofiev!"

Oh, Peter! My mother use to play this record when my brother and I were growing up. It always scared me. I hated it! I really did.

Haven't read the whole thread, so please ignore if this is a repeat..
My boys love the John Williams soundtracks to Star Wars.
We also enjoyed Classical Music for Dummis, which comes with a CD and you read his comments while listening. I really loved that.
Oh, and one time while we were doing art study of Norman Rockwell we listened to and read bios of John Phillip Sousa! We felt so patriotic!

When I read this I thought, "Who's that? I've never heard of him? I must be a dummy..." Then I figured out it's Classical Music for Dummies....
Whew...the relief....

Hmmm...I just wonder how I should feel about getting the kids sort of jazzy sort of pop Christian music CDs. They're called God Prints, they're by a children's choir (can't think of whether the choir has a name or not off-hand) and the kids love them.
They have a really nice messages (except that never failing *you are saved ~ never mind about reconciliation* theme). I thought they'd be good for the kids for our looooong airplane trip to the US in March. What do you think?
