Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How did I miss this thread?

I love musicals, and have many, many favorites.

Ultimate is "Fiddler on the Roof" because it really speaks to my soul.

I think "Music Man" is one of the most clever musicals. The incorporation of the songs is just genius -- the opening train song, the Barbershop Quartet, the different groups singing different songs against each other, the Marian the Librarian scene -- love 'em!

But I'm also very partial to
"High Society"
"Three Little Words"
"Holiday Inn"

Not a true musical.. but I really like The Glenn Miller Story with James Stewart.. no songs like in a muscial but it's permeated with the music of Glenn Miller which I quite enjoy.

I enjoy lots of the others as well.. a couple I didn't see mentioned.

The Happiest Millionaire
The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band
Doctor Doolittle (with Rex Harrison)
Holiday Inn

Oh and I love the music from CATS.. but stick to the soundtrack, not the movie.

Oh, it's been so long since i've seen this one. I just love it!

Also "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" -- but skip the slow love songs.

This has been a long running thread.
I read my comment from 2008, and would still agree with these, but I will add Mary Poppins.
Its been running here in OZ, and finishes it run in Sydney soon, and we totally enjoyed it.

I haven't been here in a long, long time, but I got email notices that this old thread has been revived. Nice to "see" you all again!

Now that my girls are so much older, I have to add a few that I've seen with the older ones. We love, love, love Les Miserables and Wicked.

Songs from musicals are a mainstay on the iPods and MP3 players around here.

That is my little girls' favorite right now! My six year old wants to be a "good cooker like Millie, so all the men will want to marry me".
