How about the 6 yo who asks - "Mom what if someone did that and when you asked, they just didn't say anything? Would that be a sin?" Then when I answered, "Well, it depends. If mom is asking a direct question and then the child is on purpose holding back information to deceive me, then, yes, it is a sin. Ok, mom, I did(whatever it was I was asking about)and I don't want to sin because I love God very much!" I just had to hug him and thank him for telling me the truth. I think there was a mess along with getting into something and we cleaned up together with me thinking, gee, we might need to be thinking about getting this one ready for first confession.
Oh, I love the playdate Confession thing.

My almost 4 year old just asked me a few days ago, "Mami, is Jesus Catholic?" :) I couldn't help but smile :)

My son attended a Montessori school last year, while I was in the Montessori training. It was a very secular school, but that's not the point. I worked there as well and became close friends with the teacher. We have not seen her since we moved back in June/July.
She (the teacher) recently passed away. I had to tell my son since part of our spring plans were to visit with her. His Catholic response:
1) We light candles EVERY time we enter the church. He knows that his prayers are going to heaven for his teacher.
2) About 2 days after I told him about this (and he already knows that our bodies go into the ground, while our souls go on to get ready for heaven - and later we'll get our bodies back) - he came up to me very serious and said, "I don't want to die." I wasn't sure how to respond, so I finally asked "Why not?"
His response: I don't want to lose my body! I LIKE it!!!!
After my laughter was fully contained, I re-explained that we will get our bodies back when Jesus comes to collect them. He's not entirely satisfied with that.

This cheered me up tonight. I guess I have lots of fun moments like this to look forward too!
Oh and you know you're Catholic when your husband decides to change the words to Jesus loves me b/c they are too protestant for him...
"Jesus Loves me this I know, b/c the magisterium tells me so, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, with church tradition keep me strong."
