Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Marilyn, I found a few things in my closet! Some were my sisters dresses too, so there are a few options. When do you need them? Should we plan a fashion show sometime soon? It's even better than shopping - NO florescent lights!

I'm not sure I am that much smaller than you, Marilyn!

My dd is trying to smarten me up also. You should have seen the look on her face when I told her I worked at Laura Ashley and then showed her some of the clothes I bought there.

Oh, my!

My 18-yr-old dd must figure I'm a lost cause. But she does have lots to say about how her 10 and 6 yr old sisters dress (ie: how "I" dress them).

I try to tell her that "they" dress themselves. Then I remind her of the Farmer Brown cover-alls and yellow boots she use to wear all the time.

Oh, well. One day she'll understand.

I love Laura Ashley! I still have one of the dresses that I bought there years ago. My dd doesn't like it nor does she like the clothes there (there is a shop in a nearby town). They are "old lady" clothes.

She is in a phase where all she wears are jeans except to church, of course. And she protests over that as well.

But she does help me to look smart!

Silk Skirt $19.95

I guess a 6P would be too big, huh? I was buying a gift here today and saw this while browsing the outlet area--I figured for such a steal, you might know someone who could alter it for you!

You are guys are really awesome - I just got in after most of the day out - and all these responses! You rock!

Fuzzy I will email you later tonight - thank you so much.

And to all of you for your tips and advice.

And where else would I find people who understand that shopping can be stressful because of the fluorescent lights - seriously - those lights highlight every flaw in my skin and everything - I dislike them!!!

I now have two beautiful dresses to choose from - thanks to my friends Fuzzy and Jenn. Jenn hosted the fashion show and Fuzzy's dresses fit perfectly (I may have to hold my tummy in bit!). Thank you my friends - I actually felt quite glamorous (well except for my Catholic school knee high socks )

If I am feeling brave I will post a picture of dh (in tuxedo) and me in the chosen dress when we go to our dinner in a couple of weeks.

Oh, Marilyn, you must post photos. I've been wondering what you were going to wear. We must live vicariously through our more glamorous members.

Marilyn, that is a bee-yoo-tiful dress! It fits you so well, I'll bet you had a marvelous time at the dinner.

You look so beautiful, Marilyn!!!! And is that Fuzzy's dress? It looks just lovely on you!!!! What a great night - to get so dressed up and looking like a girl. I'm so glad the ickys held off 'til on the way home.

I'm just so, so happy that all went well and that you were feeling well enough to enjoy this special evening out!!!!   I was praying it would be so!
