Oh ladies... thank you. The past week has been so hard and the prayers mean so much.
I saw several 4Realers at the Wake and funeral -- it meant a lot. The funeral was SO moving. As Mary Chris said there was around 2000 people. To see 70 priests made me bawl.
Tomorrow is the burial.
My bil has said a private Mass at the house for us everyday. And my Down syndrome bil continues to do better each day. Today he asked me to watch 7 Brides for 7 Brothers with him.

I'm thanking God for the continued recovery of Joseph! Maryan, I know this must be such a difficult time for all of you, and you remain in my prayers today.

I'm still praying as well, Maryan - for all of you! The time after the funeral was so difficult for us after our loss - everyone else moved on, and we still felt the Cross so keenly!

Thanks for the continued prayers. And Jennifer - it's so true. Due to the suddenness, our bil's hospital stay, the enormity of the Wake and Funeral, and a delayed Military burial, we didn't get to fully grieve. It's hard to jump back into life when you're hurting.
Thank God for Our Faith and His gentle consolations for us at this time. We are SO grateful for the support and prayers.
This was dh's first day back at work. Joseph seems better every day, but is still on many medications and oxygen.
I think we'll go back to "school" on Monday. You know, I just can't believe it's the 19th already... I'm stuck on the 8th.

Continuing to remember you all Maryan, the think the suddnessness of any passing makes the grieving process longer but it is an important journey to make, I'll remember in prayer for the months to come.

Although I've been away from posting, Maryan, I have been praying for you and your family daily since the 8th. I've been crying with you too. And feeling grateful to know of your family.
I've been pondering fatherhood often lately. Mr. Vander Woude is now part of my pondering and prayer...an example of fatherhood - so inspiring. I thank him.
Our family is praying for Joseph and praise God that his health continues to improve. We're praying for Mrs. Vander Woude, their seven sons, and their loved ones...super-especially you and your children, Maryan.
Death of a loved one is always painful. It is especially disorienting when the death is sudden. I'll be praying for you all day Monda, dear, as you ease back into your routine. Please do be gentle with yourself .
Love,
