Thank you all so much for your prayers. Through truly Divine intervention, we were able to get an appointment for dd at Johns Hopkins next Friday. She will be part of a study for using the Modified Atkins Diet to control epilepsy. It will mean a lot of changes in our eating habits here. It will also mean a lot of travel, as we will have to go to Baltimore once a month initially as part of the study.
However, Johns Hopkins is rated number one in the country for pediatric neurology. Her doctor will be one of the top in the field. I was looking around on line one night, trying to find anything that might help her, and I clicked on a link that suddenly brought up this doctor's e-mail. Literally... a blank box on my screen with his address in the "to" box and the blinking cursor in the empty text field. I was surprised to say the least (and still not quite sure how I got to that point). But then I thought well, it can't hurt to send him a message and just see what happens.... I typed up a desperate plea and sent it off, asking my guardian angel to deliver it to this doctor, and, if it was God's will for us to see him, to let him respond. This was 9 pm at night. He replied by 8 AM the next morning, and she was signed up as part of his study by noon. And we are going Friday. Truly this is God's goodness and the answer to prayers- a lot of them from this board!
Please pray that we will have a safe trip. And please offer a prayer of thanksgiving for all the angels and saints who intercede for us. I am relying so heavily on them right now. I miss spending time here, but hopefully once we get back and I figure out all the carb counting, etc, I will be back on line more.
