He is still in ICU, slowly recovering. Please continue to pray.
The funeral is going to be Monday, and viewing on Sunday.

I am still praying for this family. I can read from the newspaper article what a loving gentle man he was. May our Lord bring the family peace.

I've been praying all day for Joseph and for your family. And, for the repose of you FIL's soul. Truly a wonderful man and a great gift to everyone on earth, and now in heaven.

Maryan really wants to thank everyone for all the outpouring of love and prayers during this time. She doesn't have time to thank you all individually, which is what she would like to do. Her post has some updated information.

Thank you so much for updating us, Jenn.
Maryan, you know we understand that your time, your focus must be on family now. That's just where it should be.
The Mackintosh family continues to hold you, your family and especially Joseph close in our prayers. We pray as well for the repose of the soul of a man we never knew, but who has inspired us so much. Clearly, if we know them by their fruits, there can be no doubt of how loved this man is in the eyes of God. Job well done good and faithful servant!

Which parish is Father VW at now? I have a Mass card to send him. If anyone knows, please pm me with the parish name.
The articles Jenn linked via Maryan's blog are so inspiring. When I first heard of the accident, I could immediately see Mr. VW with Joseph at his side at St. A's in my mind's eye. We did not know the family personally, but admired them greatly for the beautiful family they raised and for the very holy priest they call son.

Ladies, thank you SO much. There's been a flurry of calls, visitors, reporters and family in the midst of hospital visits and arrangment coordinations...
Joseph is awake, with eyes open, speaking and asking for hugs. 
We told him yesterday that his dad died.
The prayers are holding our heads above water... we are so grateful.

I have been praying and even woke up at 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep and prayed for all the VW's. Our Rosary is for you all tonight.

Dear Maryan. I haven't been able to stop thinking about your family. We are so blessed to have had Fr. VW with us for a few years. His father did and incredible job raising hsi sons. Please tell Mrs. VW she and Joseph remain in my constant prayers.

Prayers for your incredible father in law, and for the recovery of your bil, Joseph. What a testament to family your dad in law was. Your entire family are in my prayers, and my heart is breaking for all of you.

I'm at a loss for words in finding and reading this post. I haven't been here very long, but can tell you have an amazing family, and lost an amazing man. I will pray for the soul of your FIL, as well as the continued recovery of Joseph. You will ALL be in my prayers and thoughts for a long time to come.
