I got my first cabbage patch kid for my 10th birthday and was madly in love with it. If you can afford to swing it, she'll probably remember it for the rest of her life.

We have so much fun in our house ( filled with girls) playing with our AG dolls. It really brings our 11yodd together with the 6 and 4 yo dds and their dolls. They spend lot of time when we are not homeschooling playing with the dolls' hair and changing their clothes. So much joy here.. Our 11 yo saved and worked to earn enough money ( about 8 months of saving) to buy her own AG doll. If your dd is showing interest, I would say go for it if you can and keep her young and innocent as long as possible.

Has anyone seen the Psalm 31 dolls from Blessed Toys? I set up an account last year to earn money for our local Catholic homeschool group. Take a look. Much like the AG dolls (which we have several of and adore) but about half the price or less.

There are some good doll links here, so thought I'd bump.
I am SO HAPPY with my "doll decisions" last year.......Gotz Muffin Doll for the then-2.5 yo.....and the slightly bigger Corolle Suce Pouce for the 5 yo. They are favorites and very beautiful! I found both on ebay for less than retail.
Also, Vision Forum has a 30% off coupon (select dolls) and $5 shipping right now.....that would make these dolls $57.50, which is the best price that I've seen. I've always waited for the $20 off coupon in Dec, but you pay full shipping, and it ends up being more. Good until Nov. 21. Code: BGCDOLLS Beautiful Girlhood Dolls

I just wanted to plug VF's clothing since Suzanne posted about their sales. We have 2 VF dolls who are much beloved, but right now, everyone is into AG after visiting the Minneapolis store last summer. We have the medieval princess outfit, the Maria Von Trapp purple dress and the pilgrim girl outfit. They are just as well made as AG clothes but with more variety, imho.
